Hey all,
Well, after a lot of tweaking, searching for songs, rearranging my Nero and ultimately the best tracklist ever, put together for the biggest part by Christiaan (a.k.a. Crackpot Idea), finally the four cd compilation for Laura is finished. I’ve just burned the last cd and it sounds amazing. Full details underneath.
Now let’s hope she likes it!
Phew & greetings,
Thomas

@ Traktorbass: Nope, not sure at all!
@ Elco: Wouldn’t know, sorry!
@ Jan Tore: Aaahh, that explains it! What mods are in their Hiwatts? I love those things, I want to have one when (if?) I grow up!
Greets,
Thomas
I think I have seen the Psychobird in concert during “Suite: LLM”. But, as this thread again proves, my memory might be at fault here!
Greets,
T
This drove me crazy, but seeing the picture I found out why I thought it was a Morley: it looks like one!

Some Morley wah/fuzz pedals:

Okay, it looks like one a bit.
Greets,
Thomas
Yes and no. A Big Muff is incorporated into the Muff Fuzz.

Quote: “For effects, Bent only uses a Electro Harmonix Muff-Fuzz floor unit.”

Thomas
And of course Jan Tore is right again. What are you, their guitar & bass tech?
Electro-Harmonix, of course! Where did I get that Morley story then? Hmmm, must go over my facts again!
Greets,
Thomas

The Visitant
1
A cloud moved close. The bulk of the wind shifted.
A tree swayed over water.
A voice said:
Stay. Stay by the slip-ooze. Stay.
Dearest tree, I said, may I rest here?
A ripple made a soft reply.
I waited, alert as a dog.
The leech clinging to a stone waited;
And the crab, the quiet breather.
2
Slow, slow as a fish she came,
Slow as a fish coming forward,
Swaying in a long wave;
Her skirts not touching a leaf,
Her white arms reaching towards me.
She came without sound,
Without brushing the wet stones,
In the soft dark of early evening,
She came,
The wind in her hair,
The moon beginning.
3
I woke in the first of morning.
Staring at a tree, I felt the pulse of a stone.
Where’s she now, I kept saying.
Where’s she now, the mountain’s downy girl?
But the bright day had no answer.
A wind stirred in a web of appleworms;
The tree, the close willow, swayed.

…and now I’ll stop.
@TraktorBass: You’ve got them right, I think. Bent always uses that Foxx. He used to use a Morley as a fuzz/wah, if memory serves.

Thomas
Cool news!
*sets apart extra money…
Greetings,

You’re welcome.
Concerning g-35: you could start a new topic to introduce yourself to the people on the mailinglist (simply send a mail with g35 as the address), then the replies (starting with [g35]) will appear in your mailbox. Please be advised to take it easy and not publish your whole wishlist in your first post!
I think the archives are not active anymore since the list switched to another provider, but I could be completely wrong about this and confusing them with the archives of this site itself.
Greetings, welcome aboard and happy hunting!
Thomas
edit: If you’re thinking to find live recordings in the g35 and/or fix.no-archives, you won’t find them there. As far as I remember those archives contain old posts and mails only.
@sy2004: The band’s stance on taping and sharing has been very loose. In the past they almost actively encouraged people to tape their shows. If people brought some quality gear (as opposed to – let’s say – a glorified dictaphone), they could leave it with the PA-guys and they would patch it into the board. There have even been known cases of “contests” between Motorpsycho and their fans: MP has recordings of gigs that the fans don’t have, and vice versa. They have never been fans of bootlegging proper – as in: pressing a sub-par live-recording on a cd and selling it for big bucks that in no way benefit the band – but they have never minded their true fans circulating recordings. Nowadays their stance on this is a bit of a grey area. Since the advent of internet and the (theoretically) huge amounts of people gaining indiscriminate access to the live-recordings, I think they are a bit more reluctant in encouraging taping. They haven’t said anything officially about this though, to my knowledge. As for finding live-recordings: you could start by signing up for g-35 and maybe someone will be willing to share with you.
Greetings,
Thomas
Very nice indeed! Costs + shipping in Europe: about €37 (black) or €43 (blue). Bit expensive, but still…

15.04.2010 – (NO) Bergen, Teglverket
Are the Norwegian dates finally announced then? Good news! No news in the LIVE 2010 thread though, and even Alex admits losing track!

@ Crackpot Idea: Your suggestions have been noted, will send you a proper selection suggestion shortly. “He’s a Grungewhore” is from “Alpha Motherf*ckers: A tribute to Turbonegro”, still available new here: http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?pid=1883218
