"Never surrender…
never surrender…"
But I agree – let sleeping dogs lie! (Can't resist citing song titles, even old MSG ones…)
@ suntripper: "I won't crew your ship of fools"
Not very original. EMI invented and produced radar technology and weapons from WW2 on and later became part of Thorn industries. Godspeed You Black Emperor dealt with the various overlappings of music and military industry on Yanqui U.X.O.
Obviously those companies all turn bad in the long run. Spotify already turned out a rather totalitarian rip-off monster, so this is probably the logically next step.
That's what I thought. Shame – there's a huge gap in the geography of Motorpsychedelic Germany 2022 now!
I was hoping for a closing of the gaps in the European tour schedule, but still…
Probably one or two more gigs in the Benelux area – and hopefully one more in Germany on the way to Switzerland (Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Heidelberg – Wiesbaden would be great!!!)?
Obviously there's something Italian planned after Fribourg – geography suggests a round through several old haunts south of the alps before returning to Vienna.
@ naur: I was there too. Good concert – though I've seen better ones. Great setlist. Still the typical sound problems at Gloria – too loud for a good mix. As I recorded that gig then I was at least having the best possible sound available standing next to the mixing desk. But these days I need room to move!
@ Tomcat: As you will know, the pit at Gloria is an acoustic hell pit
Only good sound center around mixing desk. I know from experience.
But: I could bathe in bass vibratons directly from Bent's stage amp…
We'll see…
Fucking Gloria – I want to look up to Motorpsycho, not to look down on them! Let it be Stollwerck!!!
Funny – I just recently considered next May to be the best time for the next full motorpsychedelic trip out of Norway. Keep your fingers crossed!
@PunjLizard: November 23rd is my birthday and I like creating havoc projecting it to the most absurd places in the universe, for instance Motorpsycho tickets
At Rosendal the concept was music & dance – so not necessarily conceived for an ordinary "rock" audience, though probably everybody came just for that.
@ mikke:
– MP is at the border of what rock music can be, there should be no surprise to anyone this concept don't appeal to lots of people. – Yep, the concept is called "Überwagner"
@ supernaut: Losing half the crowd? Not bad, but CAN alledgedly did it better in 1970 – at their first gig with Damo Suzuki in Munich they lost almost everybody – only 10-15 per cent remained – or was it 10-15 people?
Wow! Bernie, you've out-bernied yourself this time! Next you'll post the vids BEFORE the gig…
Thank you very, very much!
Monthy Python on acid? Does that imply extremely funny walks?
Mind: for a ballet lover or expert it might be the other way round – an avantgarde dance performance with very strange musical background, performed by an absurdely under-manned progressive rock orchestra with limited vocal abilities
I'm speechless. Nothing to add to all the praise Bernie rightfully reveives. Just brilliant.
As for the band – high time for the already mentioned future "Beards" DVD. Musically self-evident – but alsy beardwise. The full facial hair has gone full circle now and rests with the hard-working skinbanger. ZZ Top is dead – long live Motorpsycho!
Btw.: Snah reminds me a lot of Jan Akkerman on this one – facewise and also body language – as if I could remember Jan's stage presence from the only gig I saw him live on stage somewhere in the 90s, right after Leslie West had ruined the guitar amp Jan was to go on with…
