The live recording sounds fine to me. It's 97 Motorpsycho with traktorbass, gnarly guitar distortion, geb's cymbal happiness, which all add up to a somewhat lofi sonic attack. It's raw, unpolished and real with no distorted clipping issues or whatever.
Got it yesterday. There's some outtake gems on disc 4 which are classic MP (Caterpillar, King Bong Hop), which are great to listen now but probably wouldn't have been the stand out tracks if released on the album proper. "Komet" is quite demanding… starting a gig like this is borderline mean. Nice package as usual, cool liner notes again. The release format issue didn't seem sooooo far out adventurous to me back then. Probably took things for granted in a "yeah sure, why not?" fashion, but in hindsight with Bent's thoughts about it, it does appear in a different light. My combo is thinking about a triple vinyl release of our album which feels natural to us due to the music's scope, but what label would go along with that nowadays…?
Quote:– Looking forward to reading the liner notes. The previous booklets that came with the boxsets whee very informative and entertaining.same here.
A duo album like BHBC would be interesting. Once again the two guys could focus on the very core and meaning of Motorpsycho. But then I guess they do need an as permanent as possible drummer for playing tightly knitted impros live. It might turn out too lose and into hippie musician noodling otherwise. Then again, that latter thing can be a new challenge, too: to turn looseness into something still relevant, resonant and meaningful.
Oh that 97 Rockefeller show is very welcome! They were on fire that night and finally getting a proper audio is reason enough to buy this. And King Bong Hop? Now that's a promising title.
Want!
I've never really paid too much attention to the lost "When The World Sleeps" album from Blissardeluxe, but today I had a long countryroad cardrive through autumn sunset while listening to it. That thing is a masterpiece! Definitely want more of MP's lost 90s gems.

All this complaining everywhere about everything.
And I would scan it but my little scanner wouldn't pick up the whole sleeve's size…
Wait! They didn't know either until after the last tour?
Du musst die Bilder sonstwo raufladen (Photobucket odersowas) und dann deren URL hier mit dem IMG Button verlinken.
Direkt ins Forum raufladen geht glaubs nicht…
I don't know if it's more accurate but if you play the Starmelt intro like this:
[Intro] 2x
E7sus4: 0-2-0-2-0-0
E?: 0-7-0-7-0-0
A?: x-0-7-6-0-0
Bsus4: x-2-0-4-0-0
C#?: x-4-0-4-0-0
D?: x-5-4-4-5-0
you get a nice twangy sound. Got this from the web once, not done by me.
Please do post HBM!!!
I guess these days their minds are set to the future, not to dwell in the past…

Sure, I wouldn't publish or upload anything. But I find it ok to send something in private for free which is or has become unavailable to some other fan. Instead of him/her buying it overpricedly at discogs where none of the money goes to the artist.
ah, I missed that 7"…
I'd rather rip it for someone than to have them buy it from discogs crooks.
"Go around once"??? What's that? What did I miss?
@ratcatcher, I can rip it, I just don't find the PM button.
Or contact me at supernaut(at)gmx(dot)ch
