“We all want peace, but if someone is attacking you, you have to defend yourself; that is not the moment to throw away guns.”
Absolutely true. And if there ever was any room for talks, they’re gone. I’m all for sending as much weaponry to Ukraine as possible to end this war as soon as possible. Everything else will drag this out for years to come. Or just sacrifice the Ukranian people as pawns.
It’s not to us westerners to call for peace, meaning nothing else but asking Ukraine to stand down, to give in, just because we feel sad about war. It’s their fucking right to choose to do what they do. And since defending themselves sets a signal to any aggressors, we must support them.
How else should this end? Ukraine giving away (parts of) their country and culture and freedom? Just so we over here can go about our happy day again?
The EU and Nato have made a mistake by politically expanding to the east and making themselves at the same time dependend from Russian gas and oil. It was recklessly greedy and naive. Then again, eastern countries chose to join EU and Nato and that’s their right. If Russia can’t offer them a better alternative, who’s to blame these countries?
“Change through trade” – as a german mantra goes – apparently doesn’t work, or rather only for the elite. And if there’s some madmen among the elites, well that’s trouble in the making. Then again that eastbound shift is NO reason for Putin to attack a souvereign country, especially based on false pretenses, as in “de-nazification of Ukraine”.
Should we all give in to IS, Nazis, White Supremacists or any warmongers in the name of peace?
And where the fuck are the sanctions against Iran? As a swiss, who lives in a country blabbering about being “neutral” (which means nothing else than “we do business with everyone”), I’m really angered about our governement.

the KJ comparison: they might have split everything but they haven’t been the same four guys for 40+ years. Even had the occasional session drummer. Just sayin’…
I don’t think there’s a subtext of that sort in this goodbye statement. That was probably just to illustrate the reason behind TJs decision as simply as possible and the guys wish him luck in that.
I’m sure the ship will keep sailing but damn that’s a bummer. I just wonder where any musician can find more challenges and different grounds to explore than in this band? But maybe due to Motorpsychintensity there was not enough space for projects outside of MP? Damn I loved him in the band, especially live. He channelled Geb and Kenneth and very much himself at the same time. All my best wishes to Tomas and the boys.
TDDU is the only album I‘ve immediately loved as a whole after listening to the first two songs. Strange but true.
do the be!
After a (technically induced) break from being online, here’s my thing again https://reponaut.bandcamp.com/releases
Also better sounding than before due to new mastering.
