An attempt to translate the Glitterhouse review:
The grand, superhuge (what's "bombastisch" in english?) rebirth of progressive rock that runs over everything like a tank. The return of the colossal concept album smashing all style and genre limitations. More than 80mins full of rock genius stealing yr breath. Short: the magnum Opus of Motorpsycho. Sorry for all the superlatives, but even the MP-lover gets dizzy due to the scale of this madness, that tells of grandeur and beauty in all regards. Presented as an attractive multifold CD digipack (or double vinyl), this is an exceptional piece of work even with Motorpsycho's rich back catalogue in mind. It took over 2 years to finish this, developed from the start with Stale Storlokken. Almost 30 musicians (including the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra and the Ensemble Trondheimsolistene) created this work of 13 artistically adept epics, which gives me back my belief in the insatiable (?) life and creative force of Progrock.
Although lots of orchestral classical motifs and disharmonic jazz elements are being used in a lustful way, this isn't a rock-meets-classic-meets-jazz album by numbers. It's a living shimmering kaleidoscope and a natural amalgam/melange defying all genre restraints, that dazzles the listener robbing his senses with its metal hard or blues distorted guitars, powerful drums, immersive singing, clarinet cascades, saxophone attacks and the omnipower of string and brass orchestra in its widest range. Hardly to grasp in one listen, this progressive rush (?) grows with every next one, and only the complete listen brings the full enjoyment.
Wonderful how after decades of devoted listening to music a new release can run me over, draw me in and make me happy. A mammoth masterpiece.

this is supernaut seconding Be here. I wouldn't have said it that harsh but yes, I always have and always will prefer the song oriented Motorpsycho. Song and dance numbers yay! Though I'm very fond of the other extreme, too. Elaborated grands like LLM and obviously the Unicorn. I'm just not a fan of hippie noodling.
oh yes I couldn't help listening to about 5 snippets either. For me they don't reveal anything at all. But going out on a limb I bet it's probably a bit different than Phanerothyme.
hehe, "see what I can do prog shit" is the least of my worries when it comes to Motorpsycho. Actually I don't worry about this at all. The guys – as any other musician working hard for 25 years – are ever evolving. It's natural. I'm none less than happy when they don't hold back what's piling up through time, be it ideas, visions or even – gasp! – uncool (according to the indie style police) musical skills. I find it much weirder – and actually a bit dumb – when a band still does exactly the same riffing over and over on a 24th album.
yes I'm aware of these statements and beliefs from the docus and interviews and so on.
I just wonder how this can work out financially especially if they have families to look after. Well maybe their wives have big incomes and/or my knowledge of how well the band does in Norway in sales and stuff is too poor (well, the latter is sure true). Anyway, it was just a thought, sorry for OT.
just a sidenote: it occurred to me a few times now that the average Motorpsycho tour schedule amounts to about 1 month a year. Not that much for a LIVE band of their stature. And also, how does that work out for them economically?
I'm so overhyped about this record. Expectations beyond words. I should be used to it after 20 motoryears but no, it still feels like kiddie christmas everytime. And this seems to be a very special one.
