<As much as I love Snah, there’s not a chance in hell he hits those high notes live. A tad studio augmentation there, I reckon>
It’s falsetto. No trickery, and much easier to do live than regular high notes.
Pretty sure it won’t ever happen, though :)
My black Rune-copy has hiss, too. Same song, same channel…
A (not so) subtle homage to Lark's Tongues In Aspic in there by Snah
After the first spin I'm very happy with the album, and I know there'll be a lot to digest in there – lots of exiting stuff :STG:
Excellent gig! Great sound (apart from when Snah played his 12-stringer – those pick ups should be adjusted!). Spent the first 3/4 of the show in the back, right in front of the sound guy, Snah's side. Snuck in the door that lead me FOS later. The sound was even better there.
Lars contributed with sorely needed stuff, imo, as the variety in sound and arrangements are stuff that Motorpsycho do great on albums, but struggle a bit with live, imo.
This is by far the best singing I've ever heard on a Motorpsycho-show (This was my 10th show), too.
Seemingly, the HBM and Tower-albums have big songs that are hard to lay to rest. They must be really proud of them, since they're not mixing up the setlist a bit more.
But who am I to complain? It was a lovely show, in a VERY small club. An ultimate experience :STG:
Got my Kolbotn-tix!
1. Doffen Ah Um
2. Tristano
3. Wasted
4. Lighthouse Girl
5. Fleshharrower
6. Granny Takes A Trip
7. Step Inside Again
This wouldn't make a great album
4 (3 with Kenneth and 1 with Tomas):
Nidarosdomen, Trondheim
Teknisk museum, Oslo
Rockefeller, Oslo (HBM-tour)
Konserthuset, Oslo (TT-tour)
Yes, it was a bit low in the mix at times. Then again, my seat was on Bent's side
A lovely show! Has Snah been taking singing lessons, LOL, he was on pitch for most of the show. In fact his singing was top notch!
Highlights for me: Intreprid Explorer (fantastic!), Un Chien D'Espace, Feel, Upstairs / Downstairs, The Tower, Bartok Of The Universe (Sooo powerful) and Heart Attack Mac.
A great show. Sounded excellent from row 26. It took a couple of songs to get the sound adjusted, though.
PS: It helped to yell at the guy at the merch stand. He came running over to me with the EP and a t-shirt as soon as I asked him (loudly) not to exclusively serve the guys in the middle of the queue
Intrepid Explorer is genius!
<The lack of a digital version is a bit of a nuisance, I had to fetch the record player from the basement!
Bringing the record player to work tomorrow will be a bit more challenging though…>
It's on Spotify.
What a band! :STG:
Sounds like this tune might be the only straight-forward rocker on The Tower – judging by the Amazon-samples.
Thought it sounded a bit «cheap» the first seconds, but then it really took off. Looks like we're up for their best album in a long time.
