Sharks!
My pleasure, mate!
Does it download OK? I haven't had that domain for long and have no idea how it works for stuff like this…
Oh, and you guys from the rest-of-the-world: See how nice it is if you stfu in the quiet parts?
Fuck dime (I'm having port forwarding issues. nvm)!
Anyway, for a few days, get the entire show here: http://www.hovmod.com/music/MPSS-2012-03-15-Trondheim.zip
(640 MB)
Enjoy!
Notes:
-I wasn't ready when they started playing the opening wail of Out of the Woods, so I made a super sneaky crossfade in the beginning (awwwww yeaaaaaaaah!). See if you can guess where the recording fades in… (didn't notice the clipping of the opening note. Sorry.)
-Some (OK, most) of the splits have a click. I know. I just couln't be bothered tweaking more.
-Splitting it into tracks I had to make some quick decisions about where some of the songs start, and I gave up on "Doldrums".
Listening now, the sound is pretty good, tbh.
For BURN, grab it here: http://www.hovmod.com/music/MPSS-2012-03-15-Trondheim-14.flac
I'll sort out my torrent issues and upload the rest soon.
I'm having DIME issues.
The torrent is ready but I can't seem to set up port forwarding correctly here.
I'll get something sorted ASAP.
OK, so I have a recording, but it's not *great*.
If it's the only one I will prepare it and stick it on dime, but I would prefer this to be the backup…
I'm listening to it now, and it's OK, but no more. It doesn't SHINE.
Anyone else get a good one?
There's nothing that can make King Crimson look like dwarves, but I would propose that, at times, Unicorn has KC in the rear-view mirror.
Standing on the shoulders of dwarves…
The Lasagne and Unicorn evening proved two things:
1) It's a great album
2) Don't serve too much Caol Ila
Me too. Looks like Mickey Mouse but isn't. :hihi:
Finally came home from a job abroad to find this (thanks, Anagrm):

Two listens later I'm going to hold back a little on my reactions (last night I was saying it's better than Meddle), but it really is something to be a hardcore fan of a CURRENT band that keeps evolving like this! What a privilege! Almost all of my other favourite bands were past their prime when I discovered them (mostly from being too young – I was four in 1971, for instance), but THESE GUYS!
Not only are they from my home town, but they are doing some of their best work NOW!
I can go to a gig and hear Gullible's Travails as the opener!
And then they do THIS!?
Thanks, guys. It's an honour and a privilege.
Tonight I'm having friends over for Lasagne and Unicorn.
Cheers! Sail on!
Hm. Snah uncharacteristically sloppy, though.
Sounds great, Rune!
Thanks for bringing the zoooooom!
Sound check:
If it looks familiar, you'll find the same back yard on one or two of the live clips on Haircuts, and it's the starting and ending point for the Wearing Yr Smell video.
They did a gig here as Tussler as well.
I talked briefly with Gebhardt after the gig, and he was very impressed. Energy, drive, joy and precision. Everybody happy. The rest of the night was cool as well, although I think the band that went on after MP might as well have been named "Hopp etter Wirkola".
Hm. Possibly.
I don't know it and Rolf doesn't look certain…
The guitar sound during that part was devine.
