By the way and off topic, “mother unit” release by ex-35007 guitarist is not worth being released on stickman, I think those guys somehow lost it, sorry.
Found it myself! It was Jacco van Rooij (ex-35007). No matchup for Kenneth
Ahh, I already thougt it could hardly be the same person
That does explain that fact, thx.
So, who was it 2006 then?
Simply an awesome gig in a nice club. I loved it all the way, espacially that you played a lot of blissard songs because thats the record I love the most if I should name one. Also I loved the new songs live and your “new influences”.
I didn’t have a good feeling about the new drummer in the first place and on the bhbc-tour (his sound and fitting wasn’t that good in Darmstadt these days), now I have. How he played his heart off, was simply keeping up with you older guys
The best gig since 1997 in Ludwigshafen and i have seen a few.
I simply love you and hope you live long and gig a lot in the future and simply keep up doing what you are doing.
I’ll be around for sure if I’ll make it there.
PS: New maxi/ep “the visitant” is a great item.
I quote my post from the COTF-thread because it fits here:
Production and Vinyl of “child of the future”?
“Good. But not there where Sonic Youth already is with the last release “The Eternal” on 180 gr. – vinyl. My LP has some noises that shouldn’t be there, and is not quiet where it should be, played as I got it and even after proper cleaning. Just bad luck? My Equipment is definitly not the problem. I am owning a Mission Cyrus Amp and a Thorens recordplayer …
If you make a Vinyl only release, than it should be a good one concerning the quality of sound and soundcarrier (vinyl). I give you 6/10 for the audio quality of my copy, sorry (Sonic Youth “The Eternal” being the perfect 10).
Apart of that I like the production and the mix, Bents thick bass really carrying the whole thing. Great groove, bass and drums work very well together, good solos and vocals from Ryan.
Congratulation, nice work guys. Sonic Youth and you, you’re my all time favourites and you’re creating a great gap to the rest of it actually …
CU live.”
I would add: Ok, they recorded COTF in only 4 days apparently, they have small budget and label and I think they like to record it “one take” / nearly live – so we have to consider that also. But the soundcarrier the vinyl could be better I still think.
Very very good Album. I like “Ozzylot” and “Mr. Victim” the most, “The waiting game” also great quiet tune. I like it a bit more direct and not so “jamy” I guess.
What else to say? “Blissard” still the best Album
