Thanks for the thumbs up, trikser.
Reading the whole thread again… is there two film recordings in the works? One by Stabil und Grazil, from which these two tasters are from, and one by fans in the audience?
@Punj Lizard – the Motortrades tracker is the place to look. Juergen should be able to hook you up. Write him. I will also help seed more and more in there as I work my way through it.
Punj Lizard: I love that you started out a few months ago, you've already bought most of the vast back catalogue, you've seen a couple of gigs – even traveled for one – and now you're digging into the audience recordings. What a ride you must have!
I myself am on a huge MP re-(dis)covery trip for the time being, filling holes in both the back catalogue and the audience recording collection as well as seeing more concerts again.
I have only heard Wiesbaden from the 2016 tour, and it is mind-blowing. Your timing for this thread is perfect. Having completed the 2017 tour recordings, I was just about to dig into 2016.
Thanks for all the tips so far – I will continue with Oldenburg, and great to know, Tomcat, that Köln was a highlight during the first part of the tour.
I attended Hanover, Osnabrück and Berlin in 2016. Were any of them recorded?
Have a look and tell me if you can find 25 you'd rather have been at! :MPD:

A recording from Roncade has now surfaced!
Thanks to the taper (and the band, obviously) I had a great time "in" Roncade last night! Having been there in 2001, I can just close my eyes while listening, and I am back there for a new concert 16 years later. The mind on music is a powerful thing!
The recording might be slightly overpowered in places, but many of the best moments are of the more quiet kind, and they are all in very fine sound. Not much talk, amazingly quiet audience for Italy, and the taper probably also had a very good spot, as the sound is well balanced.
All in all a recording in good to very good sound, mostly for the diehards. Find out here if you are one of them!
Reasons to grab this recording (spoilers ahead!):
1) They open with a ferocious The Tower, an instant Roadwork contender!
2) Heartattack Mac is equally ferocious, with a very beautiful ending. Again a Roadwork contender.
3) PPP is beautiful, more than 9 minutes long. It's clear by now that the band is in huge jamming mood.
4) GtC and Bartok continue the adventurous playing, and conclude the first, great part of this set.
After a detour of three shorter, not jam-based, and rather uneventful songs, we get back on track with a super strong jamming finale:
5) A 12 min Superstooge develops into a spacetrip, omits the coda, and very quietly floats into The Wheel. While technically not a Superwheel, like we know it from RW1, it's still a seamless transition, and a magical moment! The Wheel itself is not the best, it sounds as if they could not really find each other and it also ends after "only" 18 minutes. Papenburg version is still superior.
6) Where they DO find each other though, is during the real highlight of the set: A 20 min Lacuna/Sunrise! Here is the missing link between the 16 min Papenburg version and the 26 min Leipzig version. I'd still prefer Leipzig for RW, but the Roncade version would not have to be split over two LP sides, and it too tells a great story of the development of their jamming style and abilities through the years, as well as the story of how Tomas and Kristoffer contribute and put their mark on the result, and how brilliantly this particular version of the band works out. Jazzy spacetrip and several orbits achieved.
The epic-ness continues with Ship of Fools and Plan #1 to round the main set off, and Golden Core for the encore. Which makes for a rather rare occasion these days: The Wheel and The Golden Core in the same set! The only other time it happened on this tour was in Tilburg.
Roncade is another adventurous jamming night with a lingering epic vibe hiding inside a surprisingly captivating set.

@Juergen: Do you have my adandenco2 email address? Please write me!
(Sorry for the personal message here, but it's for a greater good)
Great, Rolf! Thank you!
I thought x-mas was cancelled for a while…
It was Lars M who got thrown out, I have been told.
I was not there, that is why I don't know more, but I can't imagine the band had asked the venue to evict tapers.
Fantastic news that we're going to be able to hear this concert after all!
I am envious of all three, doglicksman!
@Vortex155, any progress with the sharing of the recording?
Hope you don't mind me asking…
Let us know if you encounter any difficulties, or have no time.
Others here will gladly help.
@mikke: Lucky you and everyone who got to see the first and the last concert of the tour, so to say. But Un Chien concluded the first set at Konserthuset in Oslo, it didn't open it.
The three concerts they opened with Un Chien on this tour were Bremen, Brussels and Cologne.
One taper was thrown out for taping.
Anyone else with better luck?
If not, I seriously suggest that the band releases this concert officially and complete, provided that they themselves recorded it. Why else throw a taper out?
I am also aware that the band probably didn't have anything to do with it, it's probably just an over-eager security person.
Someone who was there who can elaborate?
Anyway, it's time for some serious Roadworkness, right about now!!
Juergen: No I flew back to Oslo after Amsterdam, and caught the 2x Oslo + 2x Trondheim tour final.
fillmore: Yes! More Belgium! More everything, please!
No, I have not yet seen them in Sweden, your list seems to be accurate, mefisto.
Akane is active on FB, but I haven't seen her here in a long time. When was the last time we saw her in Europe?
It's a long time since we saw some of the old travelers, like Lighthouse Girl and Nils, too. They surely must have impressive lists as well.
Thanks kjesso, great stuff!
Spectacular! Among the finest recordings of this tour. 170 min, 14 songs.
Unique for its 26 seriously jammed out and trippy minutes of Lacuna/Sunrise. Outer orbit achieved. Roadwork material yet again in Leipzig.
Other jamming highlights include Intrepid Explorer, a beautiful Sonata, a majestic 15 min Mountain, a very far out Superstooge, all too deserving of RW release.
Taifun in it's new arrangement is kind of twice as big as before. An amazing version of an already long overdue RW song.
The Tower is the last great jam of the set. I still believe they did Bartok better in Berlin.
Looking forward to that one!
Leipzig, another jammed out night!
