@ mikke – Thanks for the setlist. A seriously Tower-heavy set.
Looking forward to my next adventure into the Psychoverse and to seeing some of you there. Dusseldorf here we come.
As a reltively new member myself, welcome to the group. I look forward to reading your posts.
@ The Other Anders – Nice work, Anders. Thanks. If Taifun is from Sint Niklaas, maybe one day we'll be blessed with a video of it, as we are with Manmower.
I tend to agree with Mr Conclusion on this matter. I have loads of CDs but I hardly ever play them. Why? Because I have the same music on hard disk which is hooked up to my amplifier and sounds just the same. And I hate (have always hated) the pakcaging. I never get the covers out and spend hours reading the lyrics or whatever is printed on them like I used to with vinyl LPs (unless they're special boxsets). But as I got rid of all my vinyl when I moved countries, I don't have a record player either. However, I am now the proud owner of three vinyl albums: En Konsert, RW3 and RW5. I don't play them but I have already spent a good amount of time enjoying the packaging.
Well, I ordered and received both RW3 and RW5. RW5 is the one I was most excted about and it is brilliant, but it's RW3 (which I've never heard, except for 577, which is available on YouTube) that's on heavy rotation at my house. What a brilliant album. Must have been an incredible gig. And I understand now why so many of you go on about this version of Hogwash.
3 and 5 just arrived. Volume 5 straight on the player, volume up, windows open … a little quiet rolling entry to Ship of Fools and then POW! When that guitar kicked in the hairs on my arms all stood up, a chill ran down my spine and a huge smile hit my face. Oh yes. Oh hell yes.
@ Marc- I remember when Yesshows came out back in about 1980, with the 35 minute Ritual split over two sides. The 'quirky experience' soon became pretty annoying mostly because in those days we didn't have the oppprtunity to hear it all as one track as there were no CDs or mp3s. We had to tape it and then listen to the cassette, but still with the fade out – fade in. I was so stoked when it finally came out on CD. What a joy it was to hear it whole.
You too paolinogrande001. I'll be coming to the gig with two or three other Brits and then travelling with my wife for a few days.
Ticket bought for Drammen. I'm not sure I can go yet, but I can't afford for this to sell out by the time I know whether I can go or not.
@doglicksman – I think pretty much any appraoch would turn out OK if (a) the material is getting into the hands of the punters and (b) the band make a bit of money.
I know someone in the UK who got his vols 1-5 from Rune yesterday, but I'm still waiting for my order.
I agree with mybestfriend83. I wanted to do one show this summer, so I'm flying over from the UK for the Düsseldorf gig.
@ otherdemon – Thanks. Great review. I'm having trouble with my patience waiting for this and RW3.
Oh, and I agree, that 2001 Taifun is indeed something very special.
@otherdemon and @TraktorBass – Thanks for the info – for the vinyl and CD track listing, for the track lengths and for a labelling issue we might run in to. I have just one question. Is it any good? But seriously – how does it sound?
