I also got the White Moose album – and a MP tour poster from the IALC tour!
So, welderboy came through and sent some recordings. One of them, a fine recording from Rockefeller, is now up on dime!
My Oslo recording will be uploaded to Motortrades eventually, though it's not a priority at the moment.
Right, so I did record the show, yay! Unfortunately I made the idiotic mistake of setting the microphones to high gain, not low – consequently the recording runs way too hot and distorts quite a bit during the loud parts.
If nobody else recorded this show I'll be happy to upload it to Dime – but if somebody else did record it I'm afraid my recording is best suited for the Motortrade completists.
The stage at Rockefeller looks deeper (distance from the back carpet to the stage edge) than the one in Bergen. My guess is Kenneth was placed to the side so the crew could have easy access to the back of the amps.
Great gig! One of the biggest highlights for me was the Other Other Fool / Hell – transition. I'd heard Hell (and Dog Parade) before, and was never too impressed with it – but damn! they sure nailed it.
On a side note, watching Reine Fiske play was a treat – to me he looks a lot like Duane Allman, not only in terms of looks, but his physique and the way he moves around.
They also played one of the Zappa-jams before going into California during the Cornucopia middle section. Also, x-3 was followed by the first MP-only performance of The Getaway Special.
Before the final encore, Bent mentioned that they'd only rehearsed one more song with Reine, so I guess the Rockefeller setlist will be a blueprint for the gig in Bergen.
And Angels & Daemons will be given the deluxe treatment next. My money is on Trust Us after that.
Starhammer!?!
Would have loved to hear a church organ version of that one.

Thankfully the band from the states doesn't seem to have a fan base anymore, so they don't update a lot of set lists.
https://www.couchsurfing.org/ could also be an option.

Considering the last few albums contained almost exclusively long songs (or songs made to fit a larger context), I'm expecting a shorter, more immediate record this time around. The leftover tracks that we've seen in setlists over the last couple of tours seem to confirm this, imo.

A couple of Dungen tracks for the unaquainted:

Well… to quote from the booklet…poster…thingy:
Quote:Never Judge begat You Lied, Manmower and The Nerve Tattoo, Silver Tongue included bits that later ended up in both Stalemate and In the Family, Dave Gave Up sired The Nerve Tattoo and Baby Jesus, and That Dying Breed donated parts to "Drug Thing" and Stalemate as well.As for the Sanderfinger-song:
Quote:(About "The Matter With Her")This song never fit on any of our albums, and was ultimately rearranged, given a Norwegian lyric ("Østers") and donated to Sanderfinger. It was recorded for their first, Bent-produced album, Camping [1999].
And I'm in Trondheim from the 21st through to the 27th. I feel your pain, man.
"When the World Sleeps" is quite the revelation, in my opinion. It's interesting to see how the band were in a similarly slow and moody frame of mind as when they played the recent church gigs (also in a large, gloomy, echoey space).
