Yes, that was something. A great setlist of old and new stuff, perfectly framed by PPP and Fools Gold. Vocals pretty much on point as was the flow. You could tell they had a good time on stage. The sound was fine for the most part (I had a hard time hearing the guitars in some of the louder parts). The crowd was great as well (maybe a bit too much clapping but hey, the band encouraged it so who am I to nitpick). Lucifer took me a bit by surprise. I knew that it’s a great song but the energy in those guitar duels between Snah an Reine was incredible. Only one show for me this time but it was a great one.

I’d give it a chance! Bring on Tristano for Dresden! :D

Thanks for being honest! I wasn’t there but I can kind of relate from following the setlists so far. There’s many songs I feel like I couldn’t name or tell apart when hearing them played. That in itself doesn’t mean much. I’ve enjoyed many motorpsychedelic jams very much without knowing them by name over the years. Looking forward to Dresden!

Back in January a young band from Bergen played a small gig here in Dresden. They are called Fucales and I had never heard oft them before. Since the show I have been listening to their album quite a bit. It’s really well done. They are a bit all over the place genre-wise while at the same time having their own recognizable voice. I’m getting 90s-MP-vibes here and there.

I asked my local dealer and he told me that the release of the CD was postponed to end of April and the vinyl or at least all of his orders have vanished from the system. This is all really annoying … to a point that I fear it will affect how I receive the music. :/

Oh how I miss Stickman. Germany shrugs and gets left behind.

So has anyone gotten the record via German distribution? It was said to arrive on March 21. but I haven’t heard from my local record store yet and it’s listed as sold out at hhv.

/also: Only silly prices on discogs (filtered by delivery from Germany).

Yeah, I just talked to the owner of my local record store in Dresden, Germany today. He told me the records are being expected on march 21. and they will be 40 Euros.
I wanted to order on Bandcamp yesterday for 35 Euros plus 13 for shipping (compared to 11 when ordering from the international webstore). However on checkout bandcamp suddenly added some tax with the total now being 57 Euros. So much for the option including a digital copy without having to beg for it. It’s all kind of annoying to be honest.
I think I’ll stick with waiting for a copy in the record store. The money is better off there than with some logistics company.

Also it might be time to send a message to Stickman to thank them for the excellent work over the years (still continuing, just without MP). Their value just becomes more apparent now that they are out.

@brave_of_the_home I ordered Neigh! from the international shop because I was unsure about where the Bandcamp-orders might be shipped from. There was no digital copy or dl-code included. I tried to contact them (I think via Bandcamp), kindly asking for a code but never got an answer. So this time around I might opt for BC.

I Like To Sleep sound really intriguing, I have to check out more of their music. Thanks for the hint.
Also, to expand on the fun facts: In the aerial shots of the video you can see Dora 1 just across the street – the huge chunk of concrete right by the water. That is the old submarine bunker where Motorpsycho used to have their rehearsal space in. Or maybe they still have, I don’t know.

I got on Dime this week, downloaded three of the latest shows and left the client running for several hours each day since (except today … just forgot). However not one byte has been uploaded so far and I have no idea what I can do. Or rather I get the idea that there’s nothing I can do.

                        Thanks to the tapers anyway!

Did they touch Kanaan’s great version of The Wheel?

Yeah, yesterday was something else. I’m still trying to grasp it. Three weeks ago I was amazed by the dynamic range that came with Ingvald. However compared to yesterday that was only a glimpse. They have expanded on it and seems even more organic now.

My highlight was the Bomb Proof Fusion Jam from outer space. I saw the video of Lacuna/Sunrise in Kortrijk and was hoping for something like that. That incarnation of Arne H. was the next best thing. We need more jazz from Snah! Also Starhamster followed by Plan #1!

Sound was great as well. Only a few moments where it was almost too much, but still on the right side. I was anxious about that after the disappointment of last year (all mud). The vocal performance was probably one of the best I’ve witnessed. Great audience as well.

Yesterday right after the show I said that it was probably the best I’ve seen them since Death Defying Unicorn in Leipzig (How many years ago was that? I’m getting old). After a good night’s sleep and a look at the setlists I can’t say if I prefer Copenhagen. It’s confusing. Too many parameters. Being home and attending the show with friends and a lot of familiar faces makes for a completely different experience than being on holiday in a foreign country having to fetch a train in the night. Not better or worse, but different. I wouldn’t want to miss either. What I can say summing up the three shows is that I love this new incarnation of MP. The last years were great but this is just stellar.

What? That sucks. I hoped they would spread the release a bit so that there would be some copies available at each show. Well, maybe they’ll show up on discogs for like 300 Euros …
Anyway, I’m still excited for the show tonight. I won’t say which songs I’m hoping for. Don’t want to jinx it. :D

This seems long gone but as I am still dwelling in fond memories I thought I’d share this little detail that kind of added to that night. Right at the beginning of the show during Real Again the on-stage tech went to get or do something and accidentally kicked over some boxes or whatever. Bent had to look over right as he was singing the line »It didn’t take much to stumble at all« and couldn’t contain the chuckle. »Not much at all.« Just a happy little accident to quote Bob Ross.
