Oh yeah, guess what the postman had for me today

I'll be MIA this entire afternoon/night
Wee, just got an e-mail saying that my Blissard 4CD box has been sent! If my postman is quick, maybe I'll get it tomorrow
The B-side version of Drug Thing sounds very much like a demo (the sound quality is a bit inferior) And yeah, I recognised that Never Judge riff
The thing that surprised me the most is the Pidah version of The Nerve Tattoo. I'm not going to spoil too much, but it seems like they re-recorded that one almost from scratch in Oslo.
And that whole When The World Sleeps album… With the exception of Mad Sun which is uptempo and catchy, those other songs seem really slow, dark and atmospheric. Even the version of Flick sounds slower than the original. I have to admit MP did the right thing not releasing this as the Timothy sequel (and with the exception of the Black W'abbit cover, those are all Sæther originals)
Or Devil Dog
Junior
The Øya Festival takes place in the Medieval Park. Just a short walk away from the Opera, actually (5-10 mins).
Yet another ugly vid (La Lethe):
Great shows both of 'em, even though they were more or less identical.
The sound made the difference for me: At the early show I had a seat up on the balcony. And there the sound was GREAT from start to finish! The strings did get drowned out occasionally, but for me the first show was very well-balanced soundwise. Loud, but in a positive way.
The second show however I was seated way up front. And there was the more familiar MP loud wall-of-sound. But the performance of the late show was better; they seemed more at ease with their playing then. And a couple of the versions were longer too (The Hollow Lands and La Lethe)
I was also impressed with the singing tonight. The only exception being Mutiny! which they still can't sing for shit.
Nice visuals, too! Not an overkill of effects and lights, but a nice steady & stable package of visuals.
Napoleon: Yeah, it was mentioned earlier in some other article that they were going into studio in October to lay down some tracks. My personal guess is that they've recorded some of the rocking new stuff they've played live lately, like On A Plate, Dog Parade and Whiskey & Rock N' Roll.
As far as TDDU Part 2: I really hope the material from the concerts in Nidarosdomen and Oslo Domkirke are part of that. They really deserve to to be released.
Thx for the link!
The interviewer said they're rehearsing 14 songs. TDDU has 13, so the big question will be: Which is the 14th song?
Here's a transcript of the Roxrevyen interview.
The book-money has now been withdrawn from my Paypal account. Will be exciting to see when the book arrives in my mailbox
We won't really know until the box is released. But Pidah did engineer those original Blissard sessions with Deathprod. So I wouldn't be surprised if the Pidah mixes are the original mixes that they weren't very happy with.

Extremely excited, to say the least
But I wonder why the Manmower EP version of 7th Dream is missing? That one was recorded in Bent's livingroom, while the one on Disc 2 most likely is an alternative version…
Other than that, the last half of Disc 4 sounds VERY exciting. The song Dave Gave Up was played 12 times live in 1995 according to Dampsaba, other than that most of those songs we probably didn't even know existed!
Rolf: Pre-order has started on Platekompaniet and CDON for the CD box. Slightly more expensive than RG, but not more than a 1/2 litre can of Ringnes beer
