Bloody hell that's stunningly beautiful! 30-30 !!! Legendary! Now I can't wait till Oslo! Only two weeks away…
Indeed, I was very envious on the Trønders. Now a ticket is secured for the Oslo Domkirke event! This will be legendary :MPD:
Emily, you still want to join in? Send me an email (posted above). :MPD:
cheers
Gustav
TraktorBass, Neil and Emily – maybe we should continue this per email? Send an email to me (gustavkolstad@hotmail.com) and I'll include everyone in an email-loop. My drumming friend is willing to play and may even be able to provide rehersal space. We'll of course need to find a suitable time to meet, decide some songs to play and so on.
cheers
Gustav
I think an additional guitarist would also be beneficial
If there's no drummer interested, I *might* be able to convince a friend of mine who is very competent…
Nice suggestion TraktorB! I'd love to contribute. I play guitar and mandolin as well as keyboard to a certain extent(all the mellotron stuff should OK), and also sing decently (could e.g. do second voice). I guess my enthusiasm is larger than my musical capabilities, but a lot of the material should be within reach. I've also always wanted to play "Starless" by KC – maybe this would be the perfect opportunity?
Great! gustavkolstad@hotmail.com
Thanks Egil!! Nice! Any chance a bootleg DVD will surface, e.g. on Motortrades? :MPD:
Hi all,
I really enjoyed the gig. Magnificent stuff! The band was in a great mood and played almost non stop for 90 minutes. I had planned to record this gig, but unfortunately I forgot my recording equipment at home  . From Bombproof to All is Loneliness it felt like one looong (very cool) jam session. The boys were in a great mood, smiling all the time and really enjoying them selves. Snah and Stian shared playing solos througout the gig. Stian was a great addition to the band IMO. Brought on some really nice "background sounds" and played cool solos that complemented Snahs guitarwork excellently. Here are some comments to the setlist:
Bombproof
Insanely great. Just the way I like it. Totally disagree with SteveK. This is one of my favourite MP live songs for the time being. It contains a lot of psychedelic elements and builds up really nicely. The intro to this specific performance of the song was MAGIC! A beautiful soundscape. The boys had altered a bit on the riff, playing to or three extra notes. Quite cool IMO.
Diana
What more can you ask for? Diana following Bombproof – a fantastic combo. Played with great intensity and the solos following the rythmic break were great.
Starhammer
Segued from Diana. Starhammer was also played at soundcheck.
Hallucifuge
Segued form Starhammer. Very intens and tight. Some very cool jams in this one. If i remeber correctly, Stian used a violin bow quite a lot here. Cool stuff!
All is loneliness
Very nice and quite like the RW4 version, but with some additional Westerhus solos of course…and four voices singing….
Nothing to mount
Very nice. Crowd pleaser with audience participation (the usual "singing of the chorus"). Very cool jamming. No "Mountain" that I could identify.
Hush
Vocals by Stian. Quite cool, but boring. Not what I had hoped for for a set ending song…
cheers
Gustav
Agreed! Sensational stuff this gig! Your efforts would be very much appreciated Muusi!
Wow, It's so great (LP of course)! Just had a fellow Psychonaut over for the first time listen and we were both blown away. Veeery nice sound. Great vocals, especially by Bent. Fantastic guitar work from Snah. KDH and the Alchemist are extremely intense, exactly as we know them from the last years live performances. All is Loneliness is just fantastic and Wishing Well has a huge "goose bump" factor.

RW4 can be pre-ordered directly from Rune Grammofon within a weeks time.
I like the cover. Wonder what the rest of the sleeve looks like.
TraktorBass, I think we had an almost identical concert experience. And I definitely agree on the sound of the semi-hollowbody guitar. It sounded weak, distant and not good…A soundboard recording would be interesting.
Allright Psychonauts, here's my opinion on last nights gig.
Year Zero
I always like YZ as a show starter. This night it was rally nice with good Snah vocals and nice builup as always. The sound was OK from where I was standing, in front of the soundboard.
Leslie's Vest
Pretty much like the boot leg versions. A real rocker with the boys being tight as hell. OK sound. Nice little jam.

New Song #2
Oh yeah! The first real highlight of the gig. Fantastic! Great tightness and cool jams. OK sound. I'm very enthusiastic at this stage – very good start of the concert.
Greener
I'love this tune live and it works today also, although nothing new about it.
PPPP
What an uninspired wast of concert time. It really sucked and I agree with a lot of the ohter forumites that the solo work was uninspired/ going nowhere. Could hardly hear the guitar. The sound is starting to get seriously fucked up by now.
After PPPP Bents base is 90% of the sound i hear, extremely powerful and swallowing most of Snah's guitar sound and the drums. The only drumsound one hears is the high herz sounds. Extremely shit sound. I shake my head in disbelief.
Close Your Eyes
Maybe a cool version, but from where I stood it was so bad. Totally messed up sound.

The Alchemyst
One big base-o-rama. I struggle to hear the melody of KDH even though I know it so well. The same goes for Hallfuge and The Alchemyst. Fantastic songs totally ruined by the sound.
After this I decide to move to the back to see whether the sound is better from there. And to my pleasant surprise it was MUCH better. The whole encore was pure magic. A thunderous Mountain with excellent Snah keyboard and guitar jams. Very nice revisit of NTS and a goosebump finish with the epic Gullibles Travails. Excellent end to a partly messed up gig.
I'm wondering if I was caught in a position having a massive positive interference of the base sound. I just couldn't believe the sound guy could create such a shit sound. It also brings back the question I have asked myself (and the forum) several times: why can't they play at Sentrum Scene? Rockefeller sucks. Get Motorpsycho to play at Sentrum Scene!!!!
Well, those are my two cents anyway…..
cheers,
Gustav
