@ fillmore alias Alex:
Simply private reasons like family (2 daughters), planning a house (and the lack of money due to this). No reasons to worry about me! I hope for a Bremen Schlachthof in May!
Back to topic: I love this thread, too. Every guessing about the source of a cover version or an unreleased Motorpsycho song is welcome! Hard facts are more welcome, of course!!
@ jtr, BronYAur and otherdemon: Thanks for all the additions. I edited my posting with all the information.
I deleted “Wasted” because it was released on “Lobotomizer” (I am getting old – or I haven’t listened to that album in the last few years…).
“K.T. & Me” was “Tristano”? Tristano has been played before in October 1999 (e. g. in Trondheim and Bergen). So I wonder why Motorpsycho entitled this song in Colmar 2000-04-13 “K.T. & Me” but this is possible, of course.
I still don’t regard “Maiden Voyage” as a release because only 100 tapes were issued and practically no one has an original tape.
I agree with otherdemon about the instrumental “Trane”/”Dora Peach”.
Quote:By the way…the silent way. I would love to hear the Bielefeld version of Joe Zawinuels “In a Silent way”Where is the problem? Two recordings were uploaded one year ago (the torrents are inactive now).
@ otherdemon: Thanks again. I edited my posting and added the Delft recording (It will never be the same again was at least performed twice and not only once).
@ jtr: Thanks! Did you see the concert or did you take your information from a recording? I have never seen a recording of this show so far!
Quote:The It Will Never Be The Same-jam was on a bootleg. Although it wasn’t quite The Wheel yet, one could hear elements that would later become important parts of The Wheel. But the main riff was created a few days later in Cologne. There is only one “It will never be the same-jam” noted in Dampsaba and this was in Groningen 1994-05-12. Is there a recording from this show available? I don’t have one and haven’t heard about one either.
@ otherdemon
Thanks! I hoped for some corrections and additions like you did.
Fade To Gray and Snafu: of course they do not belong here. I deleted them and edited my posting.
I listened to Dominos some time ago and I could not hear any other Motorpsycho song in it. I have to listen to it again. Anyway, I edited my posting and included your addition.
It is interesting that
– You Gave It All Away is an early version of Plan #1,
– Slide Jr. is an early version of Junior,
– It Will Never Be The Same-jam is a predecessor of The Wheel.
Did you guess that information or do you have any “hard facts”? Anyway I edited my posting and included your additions, too.
I counted more than 140 songs which Motorpsycho played but have never released. They are mostly cover versions. Some of them might forerunners of songs which were later released with a different name. If anyone can contribute to this listing (e. g. identify a song as a cover version)I would be pleased. The songs are listed in alphabetical order.
The sources were Dampsaba (1990-1999), recordings and the setlists forum on this website.
If you want to know any more information (e.g.: On which shows did Motorpsycho play song x?) then I will be delighted to answer this question.
My question is: Does anyone know the title of the song in Gent 1994-05-14? Dampsaba does not list it.
