Thought this was a really, really good show. The difference from Hamar on friday to Oslo yesterday was day and night.

Super sound, band on fire, great crowd.

I hope they keep playing Sentrum Scene instead of Rockefeller. The venue really suits them.

Lux Aeterna was not played, The Tower was the last song.

They were selling the Nye Oppstøt 10» in the merch stand, however I forgot the price.. Sorry.

@The Other Anders: Thank you for a much, much more in-depth reply than I had hoped for. Very interesting read.

Looking back at Roadwork 1, the record seems a tad 'vanilla', if you catch my drift. Not to say that it is a bad record, it is still my favourite live record of theirs, but seen with '2019 eyes', the jams are not as developed, dynamic and fluid as what they pull off seemingly every night these days. Your walkthrough puts this into context in a way I hadn't thought of before. Much appreciated.

As for the '90s tunes' vs 'more jams'-camps, I for one would love it if they went more 50/50, but this is a luksusproblem of epic proportions. Can't complain, really.

Back in the day we traveled for weeks to witness stuff like this. These days they reach the boiling point 3-4 songs into the opening night already.

This is a very interesting point that I haven't seen mentioned before. Obviously they get better at improvising, reading and playing off each other year by year by sheer practice, but it never struck me that they must have been 'worse' at some point, I guess.

Are you saying that the really stellar jams were fewer and further between back in the days?

17th of may is the norwegian constitution day, so the guys will probably be eating ice cream with their kids and having a drink (or five, hence no gig 18th).

After having some time to digest the new album, I feel like I should redact my previous statement about being unimpressed. The Crucible, especially the title track, is a good piece of work embracing Yes, King Crimson and Camel. Good stuff.

@Punj: That would be one way of doing it, but I am honestly as surprised as you are that it's in the top 5 at the moment, let alone that it's the Roadwork III version, and not the album version.
