It’s a statement. Deal with it! Or don’t…
hehe you’re right Rock on Snah!
Now that is good news!
The only thing missing is kim gordons crackhead voice
Yeah. Nice pics! As usual, i could have sold an organ or two to have been there…
A little side note ->
If you music lovers in here haven’t already checked them out, then i urge you to take a look at the fancy swedish jazz trio — “Esbjörn Svensson Trio” —
Been listening to the cd Tuesday Wonderland all day, and i’m really diggin’ it.
Jazz with fuzz. Nice!
Ok back to you folks
Regarding the OT thread: I won’t ignore Mark. He’s got many a nice point both in there and other threads. I just think he might have overused that thread abit. In between his posts, someone tried to talk about the death of fabchannel among other things. It would have been nice to discuss that for awhile, but his posts hid the story. So. Let’s try again shall we…
Well….i don’t think you should put that much into it. That’s the beauty and the beast about forums in general. You’ll always find people who doesen’t agree with your thoughts. And that’s a good thing. Imagine how dull it would be if everybody agreed all the time?!
As for the shows you describhe: Is there a dressing code for enjoying a band? Sounds pretty stupid to me…
I think it’s got something to do with the major label case, like otherdemon implies. But my spin is this: The Nerve Tattoo is bents frustration concerning the “big bucks” bullshit, but being a small band against a major label is like David vs goliath. So instead of banging his fist in the table, he keeps his feelings locked inside himself, confident that their music will do the talking – “but thats OK. it doesn’t matter anyway. it’s still those with the least to say that will be heard…”
Or he can be talking about his little ringworm which he’s named his nerve tattoo. What do i know. Fun to ponder though
As far as i can see, we’re stuck with that moron Espen Thoresen’s interviews. None of the actual live performances are shown. But perhaps we’ll get a little interview with MP at least….
Perhaps this is MPs way of entering the future, with paying trubite to the past. I like it! Goes to show that they won’t let themselves get pushed around by whiny little maggots like that biatch Øyvind Adde or whatever his name is. I don’t remember, and i don’t care to…
hehe kind of an expensive way of getting the new album, but i get your drift. I’ve got a buddy who’s got one of those, so that’s gonna be the way i’ll get to enjoy it.
Word Elvin! Becides. It’s not exactly atomic science getting a vinyl record converted to CD-R or even MP3 if that’s your preference. Dammit…Let those “self indulgent mono minds” continue to endulge. It’s what’s led them to this point in the first place. No limits, no laws!
Well to sum up: The author is pissed at MP and Rune Gramofon for releasing the next album only on vinyl. He feels that MP and Rune are marginalizing an already marginalized audience by doing so, and are limiting their musical ventures to those with a record player, which he states is about 20 % of the listening market. The phraze EGO TRIP is tossed around abit too.
In shorter: Doing this is like pissing on their fans, and themselves, as he fears that their sales will plummit due to this vinyl only release.
But heck, it’s MP’s call right?! If nobody buys the record, then nobody suffers like they’ll do. Becides. It would be kind of weird for MP to take the “Prostitution” route when celebrating 20 years of being free to do what they want, without any corporate strings attached. And i think the odd paychonaut here and there will understand this, and find a way around this problem, instead of slapping the hand that has fed them excellent music for 20 years now.
Hehe this is so cool! Can’t wait for the album. I haven’t got a record player, but i’ll find a way!
End of discussion. We’ll never see eye to eye anyway.
