Yes, two different designs as far as I could see. The monster and the little boat.
Ohh, seems Im off for a concert
Edit: there are three designs – also the fish.
And caps, hoodies buttons. The works
Shining – Blackjazz
According to this review we can actually thank the Fishtank recording and his playing with MP for the inspiration to this great jazz metal band. Who would have thought that when hearing the LP.
One minor detail the reviewer didn't notice is that the light show is picking up lots of elements from the Cathedral coancert. The dancing organ pipes are now swaying sea weed, the circling eye is still there, turning into the gyre. This show deserves a roadworks release – on DVD.
And yes, let's hope for some better sound tonight. At least it has improved on the second night the two last times they did a double-date at Byscenen. I couldn't really judge it last night, standing right in front of Snah's rig. I'll move further back tonight.
EDIT: The DVD should of course be a double.
1. The raw – rock quartet version
2. The full blown over the top feinschmecker version with full orchestra
Also released in a deluxe edition including Bents new 1000 page novel telling the sad but compelling story about this existential journey.
I second that last statement – terrific show.
And the costumes РKenneth the sailor boy, Snah the captain with gold decorated jacket and 70'ties trousers, Bent the monster with bat wings, and St̴le looking like Rick Wakeman on a happy day with his large cape behind the keyboards. And the ticket comes a folder explaining the story in more detail and a presentation of the band. Priceless!
For those afraid of jazz; The Unicorn is a prog behemot, very little impro there. The jazz kicked in with the encores. A new solo from Ståle, and not least, a proper jazz solo from Kenneth the jazz drummer. Motorpsycho the jazz band is still there.
Sounds amazing. Any chance that this recording might resurface again on one of the popular sites?
Please? :begging:
For some this isn't a joke. Just watched the steelbox pass by for NOK 6200 this weekend.
A good bottle of wine for the seller
Today it is!
According to an interview in todays Adressa (wooden edition) it will be loader, more primitive, and they will be wearing costumes!
Support on the Trondheim concerts will be Mattis Kleppen.
Just wanted to bump this one for those who might not have seen it yet.
They might not be louder, but they sing better and – dare I say it – they even look much better than the original too.
A nice review from Musikk fra Norge
Another one, not quite that positive, from Adressa Nice picture though and the reviewer doesn't have a clue.
Edit: and a third one from Dagsavisen
Yup, bought the album at the release concert.
This is not your average pop album, more towards the experimental corners of jazz/metal/ambient. Music with resistance, which makes it all the more interesting.
Not by far as "loud" as the concert. I like it.
Actually the Unicorn has been available to buy and download for some time already,
as mentioned earlier in the thread. But then you won't have the lyrics or the great picture by Thore Hansen
Reviews from the first concert Kakao tidende and Adressa
Very good concert – unless you are among those few that find the Unicorn being destroyed by jazz. Snah and Stian are a noisy combo.
The extra concert is the same day – 11.11 at 17.00 according to Adressa
Tickets for sale from Thursday at 09.00
Sold out, and they are working on setting up an extra show according to Dagbladet.
el Doom & the born electric to warm up for Motorpsycho in London. You are in for a treat!
