    Yeah, top 3 for me too. Best recording quality wise as well. Just every instruments sounds great, yet not "too perfect", still has enough rawness to it. The recording of the orchestra still blows my mind, how a "rather small band" like MP gets it down like this.

    With Into The Mystic being in the top 3 MP songs ever.

    It's one of my favourite albums as well.

    I saw them play it live at the Opera in Oslo back then with full orchestra.

    It was really cool, just the crystal clearness of the vocals were a little downer since they didn't sang soooo very well. But old topic, discussed million times. :)

    The experience in general was grand and worth the trip for sure!

    Such a great movie – really really well done. Enjoyed every second! :MPD:

    I always hear lots of kraut in Alchemyst, the robotic drum beat, combined with a little Sonic Youth maybe.

    Apropos but off topic: Catched Thurston Moore Group some weeks ago here in Munich – they absolutely totally blew the roof off! Best gig ever since MP last year.

    @Johnny_Heartfield: No, that's definately the song that made autotune famous. It's taught in any audio-engineering lesson.

    @suntripper
    : Bent just simply makes more effort singing in the first video. :) That's Motorpsycho. Like phoots flower said, they have good and not so good nights. You can discuss why and for sure there's much more stable singers out there. It annoyed me once at the Oslo opera house, Unicorn tour. They played at this beautiful opera house with this great vibe but the singing was really not so cool…. Well, this is Motorpsycho. :)

    @JERO
    : You can be completely flat, autotune will correct to any harmony. It's just the more it has to correct, the more the artefacts of processing will be heard.

    You can even turn spoken word into a melody: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-qSWksEXjW8

    Autotune was made acceptable or ok-to-use-as-an-effect when Cher's "Believe" came out.

    In nowadays pop-world too many artists are using this as an effect. For these singers or even rappers it's cool cause if they don't hit some notes it can be fixed with autotune and it's totally accepted by the listeners. Actually I guess some producers will add it because "the song needs it…" :)

    I don't think this effect works well in the rock-world. But for fixing some notes here and there, especially in a live-recording, why not. Or if overdubbing doesn't work or to save studio time.

    The more you pitch a note, the more artefacts become audible. Celemony's Melodyne and Antares Auto-Tune should still be the industy standard for the autotune effect.

    A mindblowing concert. Again. Never saw B2C live, I always loved MPs version, it was so heavy and rocking, actually Reine was! He "went nuts", in his way of rocking out of course. :) Liked Pacific Sonata a little better during the last tour, but from there on the gig just went übergood. Ãœberpilgrim was another highlight, the guys had to smile at each other cause they felt it worked really well. After Fool's Gold Bent made a short goodbye announcment – you could see as he began to speak he was still in space out mode. So nice to watch. The vibe was all good in the crowd, everyone had to laugh when Bent and Snah brought out their double necks…. :P Sound: Perfect and L O U D!

    Motorpsycho rock on forever!

    Made my way up from Landshut / Munich just for the concert in Erlangen. Has been quiet a while to go tripping for a MP show as I had attended the last gig a good time ago in Munich, so it felt a little nostalgic but like something that was missing. The magic feeling actually started days before, you prepare yourself mentally for such an event.

    While getting there you make up your mind what songs will be played, how will be the sound, where to stand (but that was clear soon: Up front, middle!). :)

    The venue was really cool, nice vibe before the gig, expectations rising! So getting in second row between Snahs and Bents amps, beer in hand, perfect. The guys got onstage and it truely hit me: I should never stop tripping for MP gigs as they still create such a magic feel just by hitting the stage.

    Drums and vocals may not have been loud enough in the front but so what, got the sound as pure as it can get directly from the stage! It was beautiful from the beginning, the new song crazy as some people here mentioned before, swirling in space all the way through until Pacific Sonata which absolutely blew everything. In the last part Snah (who took the lead role in many jams) totally lifted the song up into outer spheres. Almost tearful moment in a positive sense. Heartattac Mac and Starhammer were other highlights, really in your face, and so tightly played. And the Moog Taurus… I try to explain this to people not having seen MP live but really you got to experience the use of this pedal in real. It fits perfectly to their idea of a wall of sound.

    After Sonata Reine kinda gave Snah a short hug because everyone knew this was big. He added cool parts as always in the most charming way. Thanks there is such a non-posing band still around. It makes the experience even more enjoyable.

    Thank you Motorpsycho for yet another far out, over the top concert experience!

    Bass riff from Into The Mystic and guitar loop from The Alchemyst second part.

    Actually Into The Mystic always reminds me of trips to Thailand. Made a video "amateur-style" back then with the song playing in the background:

    Yeah definately more! Also saw them on tour with the second album, really great concert as they lifted the music into country rock heaven at parts. Would love to listen to new stuff!

    A new song from my solo-project DAWN:

    Prog / Heavy rock / Psychedelia with the influences of Krautrock and a certain weed factor here and there.

    … which shows that crowdfunding is a kind of a weird thing…

    in reply to: A Boxful of Demons #32006

    I like it too but i won't buy it. The question is if it needs all things in the package which is more or less the same content on three formats for over 100 Euro…

    Or better: If you like it buy it, if you don't like it don't buy it, 'nuff said, and shut down this whole discussion board…
