Yep, guess something in between would be cool. Get better singers (think Snah has improved pretty much) and what can't be done, do with autotune! Bent seems sometimes bored with singing or just emotion is too left behind. That can replace a little of out of tune singing as well.
September 13, 2011 at 09:09 in reply to: Morgenbladet Top 100 Best Norwegian Albums Of All Time #20145Yep, same with me. First MP-album ever heard and loved it from the beginning.
The Dawn Band (I play guitar and vocals) :
Hainloose (I play drums, we just reformed! Updates soon) :
Both bands on http://www.elektrohasch.de
I haven't heard "Trees Outside The Academy" yet but "Demolished Thoughts" is really turning into a favourite end-of-this-summer / day on the beach album. Benediction and Iluminine have grand melodies, as well as the last three songs, that I've not been able to seperate yet, just recognizing them as one flow of acoustic sounds and harmonies!
Have to get that one also!
Cool, will get it in vinyl too, have it only as a "pre-listen digital album"….
"Needle hits black laquer"
Get Haircuts DVD!
… and it was the best concert I've seen in a long time…. be sure to check out BATTLES when you have the chance. They are just awesome and there's nothing like them out there.
Battles have a new record out and an awesome live recording done at the Paris City Hall.
Gonna see them in Munich next week!
So good, thanks! There is almost no one in the crowd, it looks like an underground gig from the late 60s… Great!
@crackpot: Thanks for the response and "review". Cool you like the vocs, it's the part to stuggle the most with but most important is that it fits.
I know The Machine, great band from the label! If you want a CD, I can send you… contact: oidweibasumma@yahoo.de Some more Moogs and Hammond on there as well!
@supernaut: Thanks! Should play live soon, Zurich would be great to play!
Got it today and just listening!
First impression, best sound of all RWs but sill raw. For someone who's not familiar with MP it still may be too "live sounding" to get some parts/songs, but I like it alot!
The vocals: Guess they redid the one or the other in the studio but that's cool with me if you get such a result. If that is all sung live, respect!
They took that really great version of Wishing Well and The Alchemyst is played very good and very fast! And cool to hear some Mellotrons and Moogs on there as well. The out of space Bomb Proof is very nice. Landslide is just great. Always liked it and this is a perfect live performance.
My band finally released our album on Elektrohasch records (www.elektrohasch.de):
Prelisten here: http://www.myspace.com/dawnband
We say: Sonic Youth meets Motorpsycho meets Quotsa with a touch of Foo Fighters energy!
Hope to play some concerts in the near future!!
cool!!!
