Wow, that's a very cool introduction to people who don't know the band, and that in a magazine like Mojo. Good for the boys.
Good point indeed. I've ordered and received both the box as the Blissard book from Stickman and that was a lot cheaper than ordering from Konkurent (their Dutch distributor) which has it will be sending it out the 8th. So, all you unfortunate people who haven't received it, my guess is you will still have it sooner than you will find it in the shops. But i must confess, i would be totally bummed out if i hadn's received my package today.
So, the boxset. I haven't had much time yet to digest the thing but here some thoughts.
– The liner notes are entertaining and usefull as expected. Good read!
– The box and the artwork is amazing.
– I've listened to the first disc and i must say i like the 3EP format quite a lot. Makes the experience a litte different.
– Listened to a bit off the live stuff. Hogwash is fantastic. The sound is not that far from the recording on the Haircuts DVD (the bonus one)
– Although i like the 3EP thing it's still weird to me that Back to Source was only included on the vinyl edition. One one favorite MP songs.
– No problems with the sound of the live stuff although i like the sound on Roadworks I better to name one.
– i am repeating my self which means this box met my expectations.
I hope they keep this reissue series going! And agree with Kjellepelle on the live Bard shows. I especially remember a long and fantastic My Best Friend.
I don't know. The album itself is two discs already. Disc 3 the ep's and some outtakes (it would surprise me if there aren't any) and disc 4 more live stuff? Wild speculation this off course.
I haven't received mine yet from Stickman but i hope it sounds alright. The live portion is what i am looking forward to the most.
Somewhat offtopic: i wonder how far they will go with the 4/5/6 cd box reissue sets. Trust Us for sure and there is enough material for Let Them Eat Cake (Barracuda,2 eps, various live stuff) but then what? I don's think the records after that are suited for a box set release. Any thoughts?
I didn't receive mine either yet. Ordered it from Stickman. Hope it arrivés today, with the Blissard book.
From the Stickman site: Since we just got the CD box sets in yesterday afternoon, we’re busy packing and shipping all preorders. Most have gone out, and the rest will be be ready for the post office by Monday morning.
So, today or tuesday… Fingers crossed.
Thanks for the reaction btw Blashyrkh. I decided to skip the Trust Us reissue wait for the inevitable Trust Us boxset instead :MPD:
I am so looking forward to this one! Almost…
I see mostly good things about this release.
– It's cheap. 25 euros (ex shipping) is not much.
– Looking forward to reading the liner notes. The previous booklets that came with the boxsets whee very informative and entertaining.
– the previous boxsets all looked amazing.
– I have the AADAP 2lp. I think it is great to also have the three ep's on three discs. Probably makes the listening experience different and handy to have it on cd.
– The first live version of Un Chien! More demos & stuff!
– A complete live concert! with Hogwash, more un Chien! Very cool. I already heard this concert but it is nice to have i complete and in the best quality.
How is the sound of this one? I have the first vinyl edition which sounds terrible. Very noisy, lots of cracks. I have heard a copy of the same edition whicht sounded just as bad. I am considering buying this white one but only if it is an improvement over the one i already have.
True.
Sorry man. I would be quite disapointed to have torn parts on a record like this.
The one i bought at Vera Groningen is flawless.
How much for the Motorpsychotic Fragments thingy? You can mail me at chrisdegraaf@gmail.com.
It seems this theory was correct:
somewhat stuck at the moment and maybe Kenneth sensed that Motorpsycho is not the vehicle to go to new places anymore.
I agree with Mikke. I have no idea what the real reason is Kenneth left. A lot of speculation but no statement from Kenneth nor the band as for why he actualy left.
I wondered that too although i can't imagine Geb coming back to the band.
About a new Roadwork: Always a good idea. I would really like a Roadwork of the last tour, including:
Feedtime
Watersound
Through the Veil
HBM2
Spin, Spin, Spin
