Btw, before I moved to this great city I was a little bit afraid of a presumebly scarce musical scene, but nope! It might be a bit different from (the rest of) Europe but we'll still get to see some great concerts! Next week it's MIDLAKE and EFTERKLANG! That's a pretty good start, although I have little hope that MP will ever play here…

Sorry guys – this is completely off topic and got nothing to do even with TYG (who I like btw…) BUT I need to know: how can I upload a picture from my hard drive into a thread/new post? Copy and paste doesnt seem to work for some reason… Anyone knows?

              Thanks in advance!

At the climax of organism there is a shudder – mostly felt in

the stomach – almost identical, but less intense than shudder

experienced at the moment of death.

I find that very hard to believe. "Organism" doesn't make any sense whatsoever but "orgasm" does, and that's what I've always understood. Maybe it says "organism" on Matt Burt's manuscript but in my ears it really sounds like "orgasm" on the album.

Slightly on-topic: Does someone have the exact text featured/projected during the live "Plan #1" on "This is Motorpsycho/Hair Cuts"? The line that comes to my mind is "I became the Devil's loudspeakers"

Pretty sure it's during TGC and not Plan, at least on the old "This is Motorpsycho" video tape. I don't know the words without watching it again but I remember it ends with "Anything's possible"!

I see your point, supernaut. I was referring to the kind of music rather than attitude. Concerning the latter I agree!

This is all quite far away from the MP-universe but it’s still great stuff imho. You will probably have come across most of these but maybe not all of them!

“Modest Mouse”. One of my favs besides mp!

“Hellsongs” from Sweden, very sweet. I bet you’ll understand their concept quite quickly…

“The National” from the US. Only discovered them last year, great stuff, especially the voice!

“Elbow” from Scotland. Love it or leave it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jECvwTj9bM (from their debut “Asleep in the back”, listen to the whole song, it’s totally worth it!)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MnmD_2rNJY8 (from their last album “The seldom seen kid”)

Anyone seen this fantastic band live during their much-too-short period of existance?

“Archie Bronson Outfit”. This is still growing on me but I gotta feeling it’s gonna be big…

                      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtzvS2X7C1w

“Portugal. The Man” from the US. If you haven’t heard of them yet, you will pretty soon!

                      http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxzIjYO-VD0&feature=related

“Herman Dune”. Singer-songwriter-stuff, very sweet again…

“Belle and Sebastian”. They have the most wonderful melodies i’ve ever heard!

To finish this I give you sth controversial…

I reckon nothing is further apart than old-school rock music and HipHop, so I guess some of you can’t relate to this at all…, but man! What a punch these guys have!

but it is quite annoying to read in german medias how Argentina won against Mexico because of the referees.

Absolutely right! That’s called ‘applying double standards’, I guess, and it’s something the german media are very good at!

I’m still very happy about the way they played: they were strong, quick and, as Thomas rightly mentioned, creative in generating chances. It’s true that Lampard’s goal, if allowed, could have been a turning point, but since we won 4-1 and were the overall better team the bitter taste because of the ref’s decision isn’t as strong as it could have been.

Unusually, I’m going for the Dutch today, they played well so far (as always) and I’d love to see them in a quarterfinal against Brazil.

Btw, thanks for the congrats, Thomas! It’s an honor to hear that from an english person (even if only half-english).

Argentinia have left the strongest impression so far but I still think Brazil’s gonna make it in the end (despite the poor perfomance against Protugal right now).

However, the best thing about this World Cup is Germany vs England on Sunday! I hope for a dramatic 3-3 after extra time and Germany’s almost traditional victory on penalties! :D

Unbelievable! What a setlist – again! And I missed it (like all the other concerts this tour) ’cause I’m in the middle of my fucking exams!

And then this: WEARING YOUR SMELL!!! I don’t believe it… One of my absolute favs, and the one I haven’t seen in 20 MP shows since `99! Bloody fucking hell! I reckon that was my last chance to hear it since I can’t go to Oya… Oh, cruel world! :(

Anyway, I hope all of you who went had a brilliant night, I envy you so much…

The setlists look great so far, can’t wait for the german shows now! I’m only wondering… do they use acoustic guitars again? I kinda miss them, and now that “A shrug…” has returned (and maybe a few others from Timmy will) there might be a chance of that…

Alright, cheers! I’ve checked out Attila’s page after I found the video, and from what I’ve read he seems to be a very productive artist/poet/musician. Apparently he plays shows in Germany regularly but I’ve never come across him before. Have you seen him live? Worth attending?
