TOTALLY FUCKING EXCITED! It’s possible that this one will be released before Xmas!
Keywords: Simple bassriffs, jazz-jamming in 11/13, space-opera(!), pretty loose, trying out new directions and solutions. One track is 18 mins long, another one 10 mins. Possibly a concept-album.
Nice pic, too.
And here’s a Youtube-snippet from a new song they played at Roadburn:
May 26, 2009 at 18:04 #12063AAAHHHHH!!!!! i’m going crazy!!!! best news since the announcement of “child of the future”!!!! what a great year. thanks a lot mp, you make me feel much higher!!!!!
May 26, 2009 at 18:28 #12064ooooooohyeah!
I’m so much more excited for this album than Child of the Future!
I fear more Kenneth’s snik-metallifisering than I fear FRP’s snik-islamifisering!
May 26, 2009 at 18:43 #12065oh my god, that is exciting news. I’ve read the dutch google translation (which is really funny but also quite a good invention, i can finally make something of articles like this) and it sure is interesting. Wow.
Funny that the whole article seems to be about that album and the proces of making it, and nothing on Child Of The Future. One would think this is the time to promote CotF.

Why? We don’t know much about CotF, other than there are 7 songs on the thing and it was recorded by Steve Albini.
I really like the idea of a space-opera, and long songs, and jazzy influences, i am drooling all over.
May 26, 2009 at 18:45 #12066Hooooly shit! Sounds like Motorpsycho is fusing rock with canterbury prog and hawkwind. Yes please
May 26, 2009 at 18:52 #12067Wohow, thanks Demon – great news!
Smells like some late autumn or early spring live performances, too if the guys are on fire with new tracks… there’s hope :-]
May 26, 2009 at 20:44 #12068ah our boys are in the working groove again like in the olde days.

I might love it, but read somewhere that it’ll be a hard rocking album. I prefer them more psychedelic and experimental and less metal. The youtube clip otherdemon posted above, it might be the sound though, didn’t do anything for me. Not that I know it’ll appear on the album though…
May 27, 2009 at 00:53 #12070Og lange låter. Kvarteret og der omkring.
En lange nummers. Kwartalen en er rond.
May 27, 2009 at 08:25 #12071Great news! Even though I am not so excited at the prospect of Motorpsycho going jazzier again. Didn’t we have enough of that already? IMHO: I am so glad they are rocking again, please leave it like that!
And… where’s the pre-order for Child of the Future already? I know the record itself is delayed, but does that mean the pre-order is also?
Ah well, just another case of me being impatient I guess.
Greets,
Thomas

But judging new material from live vids isn’t the best thing imo, when i first heard LLM from the State X New Forms i wasn’t that excited, but LLM turned out fantastic, both on record as live.
May 27, 2009 at 08:45 #12073i wouldn’t doubt too much. and it is really much too early to say something about child of the future.
stay cool.
May 27, 2009 at 11:30 #12074HAPPY DAYS!!! Oooh crap, I think I just wet myself…
