For the last couple of months i've been listening a lot to a band called Warpaint.
Very good. It's groovy, melodic, kind of Radiohead/Cocteau Twins/BlondRedhead/John Frusciante in the mix but in a unique way with each song taking several turns. They got one EP out and one album. Recommended to enjoy as a whole. Live pretty good as well as you can see:
Hey Tomcat, are you in Amsterdam already.
Hope to see you tonight. Tried your last fm but there a a lot of Tomcats. about 20
send me an sms at
there we go.
In a certain other topic, maybe an interview of some sort there were top 10 album favourite lists from the three MP's. These should be include of course. A lot of titles already are, others not.
Can't find it in the forum right now but I copied the lists from Snah and Bent to my documents. I think Kenneth had a list as well but I recall I found it too freaky and heavy metal to be interesting for my taste.
Snah:
Yes: Relayer
Alice Coltrane: Universal consciousness
Robert Wyatt: Rock Bottom
Deep Purple: made in Japan
Can: Tago Mago
Kraftwerk: radioactivity
Rainbow: Rising
Soft Machine: Third
Rush: Exit Stage Left
Bent:
Black Sabbath: Vol. 4
John Coltrane: a love supreme
Miles Davis: in a silent way
Grateful Dead: live dead
Sonic Youth: daydream nation
The Who: live at leeds
Stones: Exile on maine st.
The Pretty Things: Parachute
Shellac: at action park
Dinosaur jr; your'living all over me
Neil Young: On the beach
Hey Tomcat. I'm going from Utrecht to A'dam, with my girl and meet up with a friend who lives in Amsterdam. Have something to eat. We'll probably stumble into Tortoise somewhere halfway.. It's gonna be sort of a allround night out for us. Me being 40, with a kid and just enough money to pay a babysitter once a month.
But let me know if you're going. If so we can drink a few beers inside during the show or afterwards.
Salud, Harry
So.. you mean we're not in november now??
oops…
So when was this concert? Yesterday?
Where are the reports then? No setlist??
Going to BSS in Paradiso! Looking forward. Not very MP-ish, but especially You got it in people, I like it a lot.
Some people read this forum every day but are too shy to write anything. Like me.
The short version of The Wheel was the one I was used to. I had it on cassette copied from the one-cd version from the library in Utrecht. So I also always sort of felt the Wheel was too long.
Very pleased to have my old Wheel on CD again!
Having heard the recording now I’ve changed my mind: this operaguy is singing in an idiotic way, and to me it comes across as condescending, as making fun of the singing quality of Bent. In any case not just happy drunk being silly. So, I guess he kind of deserved it.

This is all just very dissapointing to read for me, being a long time fan, over 15 years now and having seen them live on more than 25 occasions. I mean, it’s not that i’m a fan of the person Bent, i’m a fan of the music he makes, but still, you know what I mean I guess.
I also think Bent should be careful with this kind of behaviour. I’m not making a threat or anything at all, and if this would happen to me I would be too shocked to react in any way. But I think it’s not unlikely that next time he will get a beating. I mean, this is just something you don’t do. Spitting at someone is just so aggressive, demeaning and I think it’s just as bad as hitting someone.. So, this sucks, really.
Damn. He could have just said ‘you fucking idiot, shut the fuck up’. You know. There are rules I think. No spitting.
Another review in Dutch. “Impressive spacerockopera” it says in the title.

Same here. No picture
WOO!
Well EirikPeirik, I guess that’s settled: you are gonna be a guitar player!
Woa. This is extremely cool!
Voted TM, AADAP, TU
Black Hole/BC would be cool though, with Kenneth…
