This is (as almost always) a setlist that makes me sad not having been there. Especially the second half. Plan #1 AND Taifun??? In segue??? AND The Golden Core??? All the epics! And the fast diamond shiny poprock songs in the encore and Kill Devil Hills, which I love. But what’s LLM 3? Hallucifuge?

2 things I noticed. Absolutely no STG, which surprises me. They’re probably tired of the ol’ warhorse though. And the first tour without background animation movie stuff.

An older band I really like is Queen, btw. I’m not talking about their greatest hits or their later output in general, but about their first three albums. There are two songs on those which made it to the best-of-albums, the rest is hardly known! Unbelivable, imho. It’s fantastic progressive indierock, very diverse and playful, and full of glam rock anthems… Hum,.. I know, in the end it’ a matter of taste!

70ties Queen are allright for me. Stormtroopers in Stilletoes! And some gnarly ones on “Jazz”. And of course the fast rockers like Sheer Heart Attack, Tie Your Mother Down, Stone Cold Crazy, Seven Seas of Rhye…

Them Crooked Vultures are touring germany. Probably leaves everybody cold right now considering but we are going to Cologne. I’m spending money like mad this year for rocknroll midlife crisis panik attacks.

Ah now I hear the Mellotron. What also happens at 2’03” and at 4’40” is a change in Snah’s guitar sound. He might just as well be turning his solo guitar boost distortion thingy on and off at these moments. And since Bent has a midi pedal and takes a barely noticable step forward at 2’03”, I think it’s him triggering it. I remember him doing it on Manmower and isn’t he doing it right there on the Golden Core clip too? Snah plays the Moog.

                      Can’t these clips be downloaded?

thanks blurp. snah’s harmonies in wishing well are fabulous.

i don’t hear anything “synthish” though, and Snah always stands too far away from his moog, no? Bent has midi pedals and Kenneth triggers synths per pads. so maybe it’s one of them.

                            Rick Wakeman lives!

the preview wets me mouth by saying it’s the best sounding album so far. and mellotrons and prog structures and jazz and metal. sounds like demon box 2010. so happy to be aware of this band.

oooooh yes. but the whole ensemble playing during that solo is out of this world.

It’s like Bent said in Winterthur, they’ll keep adding songs, throwing Kenneth into cold water. What a drummer.
