I wonder if nowadays it's even still possible to have such a cultural impact anymore but I'd go as far as to say this is a classic. I love all QOTSA albums (except for Rated R which I find somewhat too lose and unfinished) but this one I see in the heights of Sgt Pepper, the first Doors record, Led Zeppelin IV, Tonight's the Night, DSOTM, Nevermind the Bollocks, Heroes, Nevermind, Timothy's Monster, Lateralus…. you know, those important, famous and defining pearls on the top of their genres. These are not necessarily my fave records, but I hope you catch my drift here.

      ramble schmamble…

to use the cliché: I'd say it's a grower. There's no immediate moment say like "no one knows" or "little sister" for example. I heard a few first notes some weeks ago and I thought I'd get it eventually but wasn't forced to hurry by those. Then I watched some live renditions like the Letterman special above or the 2h Wiltern show – also on youtube – where they play the whole album plus another hour of old favourites. And in the latter I started to only watch the new songs because they stood so out in form and style. Now I can't get all their melodies out of my head anymore. The wild My God Is The Sun, the sexy Smooth Sailing, the superbly crafted I Sat By The Ocean and the emotionally charged title track. :)

"…like clockwork", the new Queens Of The Stone Age album. I listen to it every day for at least 5 times. A masterpiece. Contender for my fave record from the last 20 years and this list would include Motorpsycho!

Gone (mostly) are the boomy droney walls of sonic attacks. It's a delicate wonderful soulful heartfelt sexy intimate piece of musical genius. Title track sounds like fallen from After the Goldrush.

Give it a spin or two, no matter whatever you thought of the band so far.

Something happened in Josh's life in the last years and it shows.

Aren't limited editions the thrilling holy grail for collectors?

MP aren't in their twenties anymore. They must make a sustainable living now for themselves and their families. I think that's more important than the collector's funtime.

I find it hard and tiresome to read like that. These tiny letters fighting against a dark background not to be overshadowed but they are.

What's wrong with a common black font on bright background? As on google or youtube? Too corporate? Or like in this typing window actually….?

ehm wouldn't it be better with a bright background and dark writing?

I don't think there's a lack of support at all. People offer car rides and even places to stay for MP tours. Recordings can be found on motortrades and dime and therefore everyone has access to those and no one thinks of anyone being left out. That's not "cold-blooded" or such.

So why aren't you on dime and motortrades? It's the easiest. Why not use torrents? Is that a technical issue?

hey! I've only now realized that "Neanderthal" used to consist of "Hell" (or "Dog Parade""…) and "Through the Veil"!!!

But I gotta say, all the shows were very similar. It's not really worth to see more than, say, two shows.

I can't agree due to missing out as stated on K9, STG, KDH, Alchemyst and the whole Blissard thing as in Italy. Have to say though that the 2 shows I saw were more different on paper (about half of the sets were different) than on the ears because both were rather rocking. But Arne H had 2 quite different versions. Reading other setlists makes me think other nights were more epic & psychedelic…
