if you – like me – haven't ever noticed: there's lots of Oya's Monster clips right here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aHznSPFtK5s&feature=related
i think i haven't listened to this album in a year. how foolishly foolish. an underrated masterpiece!
oh Monstereo is you as well. 2 great bands for you. :raging with envy:
I'm very impressed by your band and songs. The writing and the playing and the production is perfect. Are all your songs this long? Quite a unique style. I mean, the basics of the songs are so "non-prog" or whatever. They're rather gentle and easy accessible, so one probably wouldn't expect them to go on this long. Which is a nice take on things. I would sign you on the spot if I had a label.
I also find the bass and bassdrum could be louder though, and I have good monitor speakers. Any the voice a bit quieter maybe? Personal taste….
ok NOT an anthology at all, just 3 compilations I just did to spread the virus among friends. I wanted to make one CD which again was of course impossible. then i thought i make a studio and a live album, but the studio one ended up as two, one with short and one with long songs. On the short studio album I picked songs that represented certain styles. So no Slow Phaseout or Nerve Tattoo when there's Starmelt. It jumps wildly in moods and atmosphere on purpose but it totally works in this running order imo:
studio I:
feedtime
30/30
plan #1
mantrick muffin stomp
serpentine
this otherness
heartattack mac (segued into ->)
the ocean in her eye (segued into ->)
a shrug and a fistful
kill some day
pills powders and passionplays (from the fishtank)
starmelt / lovelight
taifun
studio II:
starhammer
the wheel
demon box
tristano
the golden core
live III:
the bomb proof roll and beyond
kill devil hills
the alchemyst (all from RW4)
a k9 suite (RW1)
[nothing from COTF, i only have it on vinyl
almost nothing from LLM, they got that one already]
yeah don't stop it. it provides comfort for my nerdy self. and I'd be surprised if it was coincidence.
so yet another thing I love about them: live the rocknroll nerd dream.
good one
hopefully. i don't want to see it on ebay for horrenduous prices.
thankyou supermuch starmelt, I don't know what's going wrong with my dime/utorrent thing…
