I really love the more quiet pieces on V. Taifun and Manmower are just brilliant! On the downside (coming from a far out high): Lacuna a tiny bit to long and Un Chien… well, of course it’s fantastic, but this one is not better than the RW I version, to be honest: the end of the old version, when the vocals return, so quiet an fragile after the storm, still chills my spine every time I hear it. The new version is more heavy in the middle but lacks this emotion at the end, but that’s just my opinion.
What I try to say, I had preferred to get some other material in these 45 minutes, that wasn’t released on RW before, e.g. The Tower, Dream Home or TGC.
But nevertheless: Mindblowing release that captures this fantastic tour perfectly!
And a fantastic version it is!
I would have loved The Tower on this one, one of the highlights in last year´s set.
And TGC from Bremen.
And so many more
About 20 since 1996, 3/4 of them until 2001
So thank &€“ they played TGC as an encore at this show
I actually like HBM a lot, I think the ending is a very spaced out high point of a far out show like the one in Bremen.
But as encores, I definitely love classics that kick it out a last time. So I’m really really glad we got no Fool’s Gold here
Some thoughts about the show:
All in all really great and spaced out.
Really good performance of the The Tower, stood out
I didn’t need the cuckoo, don’t like it on the album and it didn’t work live for me as well
I was very disappointed that they didn’t give a second encore
The crowd was fantastic and they really really begged for more and cheered really really long
Just another 3 minutes of Plan #1 or Hey Jane or whatever wasn’t too much to ask for
But as said before, it was fantastic
The wheel at last!
That’s really funny, I watched the RW III show just 2 Hours ago in anticipation of the gig on Sunday and thought what an amazing performance Stained Glass was back in the day.
OMG, Kill Some Day! One of my alltime favourites.. hope they do it again in Bremen. The "final" with I.M.S./Bartok/SoF/Alchemyst/Plan in a row sounds like a killer
The best setlist so far IMO
Well, it definitely means we cannot predict the upcoming setlists based on the September Gigs.
So welcome, you still have to check out the early releases: Timothy’s Monster, Blissard and AADAP
Wow, that’s the setlist I want for Bremen as well!
Just throw in Greener somewhere and I’m the happiest guy on the planet
You lied is a first on this tour, right? Did it work? I´ve always considered it one of the more problematic tracks live, because I´ve heard it often too noisy and chaotic. One of the best rhythmic pieces of Gebhardt IMO, and not easy to handle live. If Tomas gets it done properly, I´m sold for him…
Great shot! Hardt Rock Iz A Laifschteil!
Yes! Though it think it’s strange, to not include them with the CD. Were they included with the CDs with the past releases? With the HBM vinyl they’re printed on the backcover.
Ah ok, not on the vinyl
