Out of all their pop-hits, this one is my unchallenged favorite.
One of the best known MP songs (deservedly), übercatchy chorus and an
outro leading up to that explosion that the record label wanted to fade
out because it wasn’t radio-friendly enough. (fuck off)
I seem to remember an article where Bent said that the lyrics were partly
about being signed to Sony/Columbia and sorta going through the standard major
label bullshit. (Or maybe it was the audio-commentary on the Hair Cuts DVD?)
Anyway, when it comes to Bent’s lyrics it’s never that easy or straightforward.
The Nerve Tattoo is one of the best Norwegian pop-rock songs ever.
Bump. The whole thang is being streamed here:
Maybe some Motorpsycho stuff throughout?
Two new songs out on vinyl in June? I’m thinking an EP here, and it’s about time. They haven’t released one since the Serpentine EP in 2002…
How did those new songs sound? Heavy, trippy, psychedelic or maybe all three?

The Athletic Sound anniversary will be broadcast online. The website startsiden.no is the place to be next Tuesday.
I know of one 1991 bootleg that exists (with Strange Days) from Hulen, Bergen.
I don’t have it though.
And if you have the Hair Cuts DVD, a live version of Strange Days is included as a secret bonus track.
Great stuff! Thx a lot. The sound is even better than the bootleg that exists.
Cool. Looks like they’ll be doing quite a bunch of festivals this summer.

The first MP release I ever bought was the Nerve Tattoo ep back in late ’95, I guess.
First album I bought was Demon Box, also late ’95. Then Blissard when it was released, then my memory is clouded

Funny trivia: The guy who wrote that article (Tommy Olsson) actually sings “back-vocals” on Punch. Those Punch-screams in the chorus? Yep, that’s him.
Yeah, maybe they’ll do the 20 year anniversary tour with Deathprod.
Deathprod probably has more time to concentrate on MP considering the fact
that Supersilent has lost one member (Jarle Vespestad quit)
Anyway, announcements of other tourdates is needed
One concert date now confirmed:
April 28th, Brygga Kultursal, Halden, Norway
It’s a concert for the 25year anniversary of the Athletic Sound studio:

Limited amount of tickets available (only 500)
Lotsa other good bands will be playing!
