Quote:My son had his first MP orbit too.
Now he knows what I talk about all the time.
Excellent!
Kid loved it. She was properly blown away. Nice with such a low stage, we got to see all the tricks Bent are up to all the time. At one point he had his left foot on the moog, his right hand on a something on his synth, while using the headstock of his bass to make sure the tractorbass was on max, playing along all the time. Kid pointed and grinned. She'll get there, I'm sure.
Lovely gig. They're on fire again. As always.
Sorry Anders, didn't record. Simple reason – house is in boxes, I couldn't find the recorder. Next one!
And again, yes, Taifun!
Taifun was something else!
The new songs are great live, especially The Tower.
But yeah, Taifun. Oh, and Un Chien.
Brought a kid to MP for the very first time. She was leaning on the stage right in front of Bent. If you're gonna do it, do it right, right?
Setlist, as witten:
ASFE
Bartok
Intrepid Explorer
Dream Home
H-Mac
Pacific Sonata
Cockoo
Lacuna Sunrise
Ship of Fools
Taifun
Un Chien
Tower
Golden Core
They played Plan #1 instead of Golden Core. (Almost wish I hadn't seen the setlist, now…)
Funny that, I see the same here. Songs 3 and 5 grayed out.
Where are you in the world? I'm in NL. Maybe MP really do hate the Dutch, like Bent said during some gig not too long ago.
I'll get to sharing the recording as soon as I can, but it won't be this week. Listening to
EchoesHBM vol2 now. It's spot on. Excellent recording, even with the chatter of the crowd during the intro. Here's the running order according to Bent's setlist:
Jig
STG
HBM I
Manmower
Forget It
On A Plate
Arne Hassle
PPP
BBD
Junior
Feedtime
—
HBM II
Mountain not on setlist, but played at the end of the first set.
To make up for not playing it in Utrecht.
Great sound, quiet audience, nice venue.
Loved it!
Taped it.
Very, very heavy gig. Insane.
Mountain on setlist as penultimate encore. Not played.
Highlight for me was BBD.
And the massive HBMII, which for me was a first.
Brilliant.
Maybe we get the laid back chilled out version on Monday?

Quote:Anybody in Holland got their copy already?Yup. Post.nl tried to deliver it on Friday when I was not home. Picked it up yesterday in town.

Holy smoke! That must have been painful!
Respect. You deserve a magazine, for sure! Sorry I can't help, as I live in exile in NL, but man…that's true devotion!
I saw Landberk in a small pub in Stockholm in '91.
I remember Reine breaking a string at a crucial moment.
That's about all I remember, though, I must admit.
That, and the fact that he spoke Trøndersk with a Swedish accent. Oh yeah, and his lovely white Strat.
I know there was an audience recording of that gig (The Other Anders), but not sure I know of a soundboard. Jonne should know…
There was a stream of this which was available for a while on a Dutch website. They took down the whole site eventually, unfortunately.
I'm sure someone nicked t before it went down, though.
It had that monster-version of Close Your Eyes!
Watch Haircuts again. Stained Glass. Right at the start you'll see two guys in the audience lighting a big something. That is not, I repeat NOT, me and my brother.
For the record, I was just kidding when I said you don't have to see more than a show or two. I think everybody should see as many shows as absolutely possible with this band!!
Yesterday was the first gig where Reine Fiske wrote the setlist.
I wish he had taken a little more *out there* with an ending of K9>Taifun>VS>Golden Core, but hot damn what a great show it was last night even without that wet dream ending!!
Two guitars really works.
Loved Stained Glass, Watersound (!), Arnie H, Fool's Gold, lots of highlights.
It was really fun to see everybody around me in the crowd dancing! Lots of bobbing of heads,. Great atmosphere!
Also surprised to hear that Bubbles has turned into sort of a good song of late! They played that song to death 10 years ago and it used to be my cue to get beer.
Now not so much. It was stunning!
And You Lied? It's been years! Sing-a-long Motorpsycho for the masses! Yay!
Quote:But I gotta say, all the shows were very similar. It's not really worth to see more than, say, two shows.I couldn't agree more!
That's funny, I don't have that at all. I've had the CD since the day it came out and have been listening to it at home, on headphones, in the car, etc. Have not noticed bad/weird sound. Will check the vinyl tonight.
