Quote:Audio (if quality is good!)and photos will follow in the next days.
Does this mean that the show was recorded? MP recordings are rare nowadays after Anders has left the taping business (though he still sees many shows)…
Yes, there are some nice moments to discover, e. g. the acoustic songs. The show is getting longer and longer with nearly 166 minutes. This is no. 3 in Motorpsycho recording history as far as the length of the recording is concerned:
no.1: Pisa 2000-04-09 177 minutes
no.2: Oslo 2002-11-27 166 minutes
no.3: Bergen 2011-03-11 166 minutes
A small update on the setlist:
Total time : 2:45:11
1. Year Zero
2. Close Your Eyes
3. Kill Devil Hills
4. Hallucifuge
5. Landslide
6. Starhammer
7. Hogwash/ Halleluwah
8. Fools Gold (acoustic)
9. Mad Sun (acoustic)
10. Whole Lotta Diana
11. Neanderthal (new song)
12.The Bomb-Proof Roll And Beyond (For Arnie Hassle) (with Jørgen Træen)
13.Alchemyst (with Jørgen Træen)
Encore
14.Gullible Travails
I smell a torrent coming…
The German distributor "Indiego" lists the release for April 29th. That means it is exclusive for Stickman for three weeks. I can understand Stickman's policy but this means that it is hardly possible to support the local record shop (oh yeah we still have one local indie record store here in Magdeburg).
Yes, orders will only be accepted today and not tomorrow (for obvious reasons).
Where is the update in the tourschedule?
We still don't know if the tracklist is correct or not but there is probably some background information which cdon and platekompaniet use. Motorpsycho played with Kenneth some cover versions from 2008 on:
Wharf Rat
Sparks
Fairies Wear Boots
Mountain Jam (Allman Brothers)
In A Silent Way
Good Morning Little Schoolgirl
I've Been Waiting For you
Who Gave You Love
I hoped that maybe one of those covers would be on "Roadworks vol. 4" and I am disappointed that there is no real suprise on it. The other volumes of Roadworks contained some surprises:
Vol. 1: The Other Other Fool (not available anywhere else) plus long versions of K9 Suite and Superwheel
Vol. 2: Unique performance with a free jazz band
Vol. 3: unseen footage from Motorspycho's early days
It would be nice if Motorpsycho continue to suprise us with the Roadworks series…
He is a member on dime and he shares his recordings there regularly.
I got an email from someone who recorded this show (but not the first one because it was his first Motorpsycho show ever). Let's wait for the recording and we will know which songs were played.
Every item was released on vinyl, see here:
http://motorpsycho.fix.no/musicbox/discography/
It is probably a futile progress to search for the "Demon Box" vinyl. Nearly everyone is searching for it, hardly anyone has it.
The seller stopped the auction yesterday. The last offer was 450 Euros.
Don't worry, guys. I remember that the last German date in Leipzig (June 7th 2010) was announced very shortly before the show. I think it will be the usual trip vom north to the south:
leaving Norway end of March
playing in Holland, Germany (only 1 or 2 shows), Belgium, France until mid of April
playing in Spain April 13th up to April 16th
playing in Switzerland, Italy and Austria and another German show (or two shows) and one gig in Denmark before returning to Norway in May 2011.
When will the studio sessions start? May can mean "May 1st" but "the end of May", too. There is still room for a tour which is not necessarily as long as in the past.
Quote:My question is: Does anyone know the title of the song in Gent 1994-05-14? Dampsaba does not list it.I have recently listened to the “Timothy’s Monster” box carefully and I discovered that the song which had not been identified so far was “Very 90’s, Very Aware”. It was probably the only time that Motorpsycho performed this song ever.
The full setlist in Gent 1994-05-14 was:
On The Toad Again
Home Of The Brave
Another Ugly Tune
Junior
On My Pillow
Hogwash
Feedtime
Very 90’s, Very Aware
Grindstone
The Golden Core
@ Seattle Psychonaut
It is great to hear that you have a Motorpsycho recording of “Starless” (because I don’t have). If you want to share it then feel encouraged to do so!
All the best for your health!!!
Starless was played four times:
1996-09-26 Namsos
1996-09-30 Trondheim
1996-10-02 Sogndal
1997-03-22 Trondheim
The Trondheim show 1996-09-30 is believed to be partially recorded but Starless is probably not included on the incomplete recording. I don’t have the incomplete version, either. If anyone has then he can post more details about it, please!
Thanks for clearing this up! The riddle (“which song is the cover they played?”) has not been solved so far.
