Why not do both?
I think a more "underground" tribute record should originate from this forum, just like the first one did from the G-35 email list.
I'm sure a tribute from more established bands will happen soon anyway…
Tickets for the Bol&Snah show at Kafé Hærverk in Oslo on February 9th are now available here: https://kafehaerverk.hoopla.no/sales/bol-snah
Suprisingly, there are still some tickets left for this concert… Get your ticket here: https://kafehaerverk.hoopla.no/sales/ric2017
Hehehe! Now that you mention it, I hear it too!
Song: Little Lucid Moments (suite)
Solo: Ratcatcher
Riff: Demon Box
Song to let someone to get to know Motorpsycho: Cornucopia (…Or Satan, Uh… Something)
I guess it would be easier for them to tour in the US if they had better distribution there or were signed by an American label such as Sub Pop, Thrill Jockey or Matador.
Yes, this looks good! And it's out sooner than I thought. Just in time for X-mas, hehehe!
A lot of psychonauts know the show included on the last two discs. I was there and remember it very well. Having an official release of a good show is never wrong.
I'm curious about "Un Chien d'Espace" on disc 4. Could it be from when they performed it live to the film "Un Chien Andalou" at Cinemateket in Oslo? That would be cool.
Yeah, let's get back on track! Hahahaha!
Quote:Too right Ove but I have to say the Demon Box shows (at least the one I saw) was excellent. :wink:I concur. The Demon Box show we saw in Trondheim was excellent. And they changed the order of the songs a little bit for the show.
The Unicorn is a special case in point, as that album was meant to be performed as a whole piece live.
But in general I prefer to be surprised by MP. I love the feeling of rarely knowing what comes next!
I wonder if they will include the three EPs as they were originally released and then put the remaining album tracks on a bonus disc along with other stuff, or if they will try to make a 2CD album by combining tracks from all versions of the album.
Thanks for posting this here! Great to see footage of one the very few gigs MP has done in the US.
Quote:wow! That's one informative post! Thanks for all the info, which was all news to me!You're welcome!
Quote:Man, I'd really like to have one of thoses Lobotomizer LPs…I had three copies of the 1st edition of Lobotomizer. I've kept my original one, which I bought when it was released. I got the other two copies for 10-15 euro each at 2nd hand stores here in Oslo many years ago, and then I traded them for other MP goodies in recent years.
Yes, of course. I will post some photos later today.
Although I am a collector and like limited/special/deluxe/art editions a lot, I still agree that it's cool to make the music available to as many fans as possible. So I wouldn't feel cheated in any way if MP decides to make more copies of HBM2. Standard CD releases of HBM2 and The Motorpnakotic Fragments would be nice. And perhaps it's time to do a CD release of Child Of The Future? I'm sure they would sell quite well. Download/streaming versions would also be ok.
There's a copy of HBM2 for sale on Discogs for EUR 500! F#%@ing hell! And of course it's a new seller… Good luck!
Quote:Seems a very strange thing to limit the 12" at only 100 copies to a show that was sold out with 1300 audience, when the show is (almost) the only place to get a hold of it. They ask people to not pay silly money on ebay, but dont follow up to make it aviable at least to everyone attending the concert. I am a little bit pissed off, to be honest. If everybody who attended the show at Rockefeller bought a copy the HBM2 release it would be sold out already. That wouldn't be fair, since it was only the second show of the tour. What about the fans at the other shows then?
A lot of the people in the merch table line at Rockefeller only bought t-shirts while HBM2 was still available. And quite a few people who go to MP shows do not buy records at all or they don't buy vinyl (even if there's a cd included). So everybody weren't there to get HBM2.
I was lucky enough to get a copy of HBM2 (plus cap, cup and buttons) after standing in line for half an hour. The band went on stage one minute after I left the merch table.
