@Crosskip is right unfortunately. The first time i saw MP in Paradiso the place was packed, twice in a year. The last time in 2008 it was not that crowded. Paradiso is an amazing place so it's a pitty that hey don't seem to play there anymore, but understandable. Cool thing is that they did play Vera again in 2010, 2012, 2013 & 2016. Last time before 2010 was 2000 so it's great that they returned to Vera. Paradiso & Vera are my favorite places to see bands so i hop they will play Vera in 2019 again.
The timetable for Doornroosje is online. 21:00 – 23:15. Strange that that is different from what the mail said but ok.
Quite special indeed! Good point about the lounge. Seems like the only way to let 12 bands play. Unless the festival goes on until 4 o clock.
The mail also confirmed that the festival starts at 20:00. Ryan Porter plays from 20:00 – 21:00 which is a bummer since i really wanted to see Ryan Porter and MP. What to do? Probably see the whole MP show :MPD:
I've had mailcontact with Doornroosje. MP is playing from 20:45 – 23:15.
Quote:Both visually and musically, The Crucible starts where the last album The Tower ended, but it soon takes on its own hue, and it is clear that it cannot be called a ‘sequel’ as such: this is very much a step further out than anywhere the band ventured on The Tower.Ah, that awnsers my question
Wow, i really love the cover! Looks sorta like a The Tower part II. I am curious if the album is like that too.
Any news on the Doornroosje show? It's so strange that they changed the event start time. Really looking forward to it though. Not only Motorpsycho but i also really want to see Ryan Porter.

About Phanerothyme:
BENT SÆTHER: So, it means psychedelics, it's another word for that. But it's a very beautiful word, I think. It looks like it is some kind of medicin. Maybe it's medicin for the soul. Anyway, that's what we thought of at least. So, if you wanna leave this trivial world behind, you can take half a gram of phanerothyme and then you'll feel a little better. You can open your eyes and you can open your ears and you can open your mind, hopefully.
Translation of the last part:
Motorpsycho did not use psychedelic devices during the intake of Phanerothyme. Work hard and concentrate well is the message. With good and varied results, by the way. Because Motorpyscho is musically from many markets at home. According to Sæther, this has to do with the restlessness that characterizes them all three.
Yr welcome.
Another one:
L: Can you tell me how songs normally are fixed together? Does one of you come along with a complete song or with just fragments, or do you create new songs while jamming?
B: It can be that, it can be everything from a totally finished song like "The One Who Went Away", I wrote on an acoustic guitar and taught it to the guys and said, “This is way it should be, no more, no less, just – boom.†But then again a lot of the other songs are just, somebody has some sort of idea for a little verse or a little chorus or a little riff, and then we just try to play on it and see what it’s all about. So there’s everything from pure, rude improvisation like "The Wheel", that song was written on a soundcheck in Cologne. Snah was soundchecking his guitar, and he just started playing “duh de duh duh de duh de duh duh de deâ€, and I said, “Ey! Remember this! We have to play that tonight!†And then we didn’t really know what to do, so I started to bark on top of that and it became "The Wheel", seventeen minutes of this huge fuckin´ thing. That’s like one extreme, and the other one is like this totally compact finished thing and just, “This is the way it should be. I know exactly how it should be.†So everything in-between is possible. And the same with the lyrics as well, some things are really concrete and they really are about this one thing, and other lyrics can be just painting with words, just to sort of add to whatever atmosphere the music gives. So it’s everything from – to, we don’t really have any rules.
There are a lot of interesting articles and interviews on the media stories page. This one for instance: interview with Geb 1999
About the recording of LTEC:
What can you tell us about the album you are currently recording?
"This time we have been very focused on the goals we had from the writing/rehearsing process. Every song was tried out in all kinds of arrangements before we went into the studio, and almost every detail was planned and tried out on 8-track demo versions. No Mellotrons this time, so we had a musician named BÃ¥rd Slagsvold helping us writing the notes/arrangements for strings, trumpets and horns and more. he also conducted them in the studio and did piano and 2nd harmony singing. This is gonna be joyable for your ears only!!!"
Excellent news indeed! I wonder what kind of record whe get this time.
@Punj Lizard: yes you can trust them to put out a new record (almost) every year.
This news makes me want to go to the Doornroosje show even more, considering that they may play new songs then.
Great that they played the Wheel.
Was Reine with them?
Yeah the sound was excellent. Much better than in Alkmaar. Highlights all over, with The Tower as the ultimate climax.
A review (in Dutch) & some pics here: 3voor12
The Dutch are being spoiled this year :STG:
So, two gigs this weekend! What to expect from Molde Jazz? This might be a very special gig, just like in 2002 story + setlist Since Ole Kvernberg i playing with them, will they play Unicorn stuff? Covers? Really hope someone makes a recording.
I will be at the Welcome to the Village festival. Really looking forward to seeing the guys play at this great festival. Lots of other cool bands too. Still wondering if they bring K. Lo with them.
