15th MP concert for me.
To be sincere, not the setlist of my dream but it fix well to the context: very energetic, solid, with a lot of fun and smiles. My personal highlights:
– Whip That Ghost (an enjoyable variation from the rest of the rocky setlist)
– Quick Fix (what a surprise! I didn’t expected it. And it totally worked!)
– Hogwash > Spin Spin Spin > Hogwash (completely mind-blowing version, as you probably know…)Other observations:
– Nice to see the frequent interactions between Bent and Olaf.
– Go to California had an unexpected and paradoxical digression that reminded me Sunn O))) vibes… Very dark and low.
– As I wrote in another topic, too much covers. Just my opinion. But, instead of Black as Night or Into the Sun, I’d rather listen to any other MP song (quite randomly chosen). They have such a large and high-quality repertoire, I don’t want to listen songs that I don’t know or with which I am not emotionally connected. Rock Bottom was superb, however…
– Incredibly generous from them coming to Italy just for a single/spot date.
So, once again, thank you!Wow!!!
I don't want to sound too enthusiastic or emphatic, but… here's another masterpiece. Someone asked: "best band ever?" It seems pretty obvious to me, and this is further confirmation. What other band can be so prolific while maintaining such high quality standards? I don't think it's possible for others. Not to mention their "live dimension", we all know what I'm talking about… I am speechless. They are able to amaze me every time. I also really like "The Ladder", great opener IMO.
I agree with you, Aki. I love all of MP albums in their entirety (even the "pop-era" ones, especially "Phanerothyme"). If I have to be completely honest, the only thing I would change is NOX's position on "The All Is One" tracklist, but that's just a detail.
As for myself, I have no perplexity about the quality and the sound of the new album: I find it amazing. Powerful and "doomy" (Kingdom of Oblivion), ironic (The United Debased), soft and intense (At Empire’s End), folkish (The Hunt)… incredibly varied and full of nuances (as usual). So I can't find a reason to complain or to be disappointed. Maybe I’m too “naïveâ€, but I find everything extremely enjoyable. Best album since The Tower. That’s only my opinion, I just write it for a statistical contribution
Lacuna/Sunrise

Lux Aeterna
The All Is One
My two cents: as usual, the album is amazing. No other band has this continuity producing music at such high levels. Speechless. Once again: thank you MP! Just a curiosity: am I the only one who hears the volume getting lower when N.O.X. starts? I mean, to my ears it seems N.O.X. volume is lower than the other songs… Maybe it's just me, but every time I have to press "+1" with my remote control (I've got the CD)
