Such a miserable soundmix… I was looking forward to see the band play in my hometown again for the first time in almost twenty years. Furthermore this was my first concert in a loooong time (due to some obscure virus), so I was hoping for a memorable evening, but frankly I was quite disappointed. Judging by the number of people who left the room early, I wasn't the only one.
Quote:Merci pour les nouvelles, c'était May Blitz je croix:Yes, I think this is it.
The song with Reine on vocals was a cover. I didn't get the name of the band, however.
I thought Bent said they were British-Canadian. (The writing on the setlist is quite sloppy, but i think it says "4 mad men"). Anyway, bernie was there, so he probably taped it.
Hey Jane was on the setlist right after No Evil, but they didn't play it, they skipped the first encore ('jig is up') as well. Fools Gold is not written on the setlist.
The band was on stage from about ten past eight until eleven o'clock sharp.
I thought both Hogwash and Mountain were awesome.
Quote:PPP! Tour Premiere? No, they played it in Belgium
Since November 1997 I've seen at least 32 and at most 35 Motorpsycho performances. My first as well as my last one (so far) were at Le Botanique in Brussels. And they kicked off last week's show with a mindblowing version of 'Un Chien d'Espace', just like they did almost exactly twenty years ago (back then I instanly became a fan).
12 – 15 with Gebhardt
15 with Kenneth
3 with Jacco
2 with Tomas
Quote:Mo, id Un chien started with a quiet instrumental 'bout 10min'sYeah, I know. I was there. But the intro isn't listed separately, so I consider it to be part of the song. Some songs have (long) intros, you know.
Un chien
bartok
cuckoo
a.s.f.e.
the wheel
pacific sonata
alchemyst
hbm
ship of fools
vortex surfer
2h.25min.
Only ten songs in about two and a half hours but I enjoyed this show much more than the previous Belgian gig on this tour. In my opinion this actually was the best Motorpsycho show I 've seen in years – I have attended every tour since November 1997.
The sound was great indeed, compared to last Thursday there was more of a rock vibe tonight and the band really was "in the zone" from start to finish. For me Tomas's performance reallly stood out.
Tonight's rendition of Un Chien/ K9 (approximately 30 minutes long) was pure gold. And this was actually the very first time (after more than 30 MP shows) that I heard a complete version of The Wheel live.
Afterwards Kristoffer told me that he had compiled tonight's setlist and that he picked Vortex as the final encore, because he had never played that one before.
Belgian date added:
05/09/2015 Vredesfeesten, Sint-Niklaas
Apparently it's a free festival with several stages in the city centre. Motorpsycho will share the stage with White Hills and Briqueville, which is a local sludge/doom band.

Okay, I did check out the suggestions Tomcat gave above concerning the ? on the setlist and I think they played a bit of Zappa's 'King Kong' last night. I'm not completely sure, though…
Bed Rugs started at half past eight, Motorpsycho came on stage at 21:45 and went off at midnight.
? was something instrumental, with a riff slower and heavier than cornucopia, Bent started singing the lyrics of 'go to california' after a while (i guess that was improvised on the spot, because California is not mentioned on the setlist)
the wheel isn't either, it wasn't the whole song, mainly bent's heavy bass part as some kind of center piece/bridge halfway during manmower.
I really wanted to hear K9, but Bed Rugs screwed that up. Good band nevertheless, although i agree a band like MP doesn't need an opening act. Last night it just felt like they couldn't finish the job.
the guys were in a joyful mood, tho, bent in particular.
Oh, and there's no OR between chien and bro on my setlist.
sorry guys, i didn't notice the other topic until i had finished mine, probably because it took me a while to reset my password. feel free to delete this one.

Great job, Vortex155!
Thank you!
Okay, why not…
I'm in.
I agree, great show, very good sound (way better than in Kortrijk as well)
The place felt like a sauna, though.
Quite an international crowd last night. I was surrounded by Italian and German psychonauts. Big up to the guy with te inflatable unicorn, by the way
Oh, and Taifun as an extra encore (they clearly hadn't planned that one) on my birthday: best gift ever!
