Here´s to the Opera singer! ^^

Finally I managed to listen to COTF loud enough und without distraction. It´s sooo good!

It was perhpas the 10th run or something. And this time i suddenly understood, why it was so difficult to get into the songs this time. I always need a few times until i know if i like a mp record or not. But with COTF it was quite different, because i knew i liked the songs but couldn´t really feel them with all the twists and turns and lyrics and stuff. But now i got it.

They invented a new music style! The holy trinity strikes again! I often thought this. MP are able to give Rockmusic a whole new spin. They are not only “standing on the shoulders of giants” but have a very own way to express themselves. But on this record they managed to do this to perfection!

The whole stile is of course 70´s Psychedelic rock. But with all the experience MP has with Pop, Jazz, Noise-rock, metal and 90´s indie-rock it becomes a completely new and very fresh style. When i listen with concentration and very loud every single song every single moment has so much power and emotion and elements of the mentionend styles!

But there we come to the sound: This mixing of styles create a totally different sound, which is on a first listen a bit blurred or even muddy. But i think when you listen close, you can get everything, thats important and thats – first of all – the feeling of the three playing together and create melodies and rythms, moods and inner landscapes that no other band on this planet as for me yet managed to create. (Perhaps Pink Floyd but they happen to be drug-victims, blinded by the light of fame and too good and shiny soul-less production or stubborn old men)

Because there is so much happening with every instrument and the sounds are so unbelievable fat, I have difficulties to follow it when I´m not completely concentrated. The songs lose a lot when listened while doing something else. I think it´s quite hard to explain, but i think this has to do with this “becoming a real band” thing. The guys get totally lost in their own music and the melodies and rythms they create are so complex and heavy, that you have to dig yourself into it, to really appreciate it. And because of that i don´t miss any mellotron or something. I always have the most fun with music, when i listen to it without distraction and imagine how it must feel, when you play it yourself and with Motorpsycho and again their new album it´s the most fun! :MPD:

    Sail on!

I can´t listen to this Album loud enough. Is it because of production or bad quality of my soundsystem? I don´t know. And not often enough. I´m in my fourth or fifth run right now and still got no feeling for each track but for both sides. A: Kickass B: Hymnic. Gotta give it a few more turns. But each track is growing with every run. But it has to be louder. Damn!

But the songs are huge! Great melodies, awsome rythm-stuff, very cool guitar sounds!

er. i don´t know if this has been mentioned already, but the pirat bay version sucks. no good quality. i just downloaded it, because of some prolblems with my my recordplayer. but this version is even worse. so if you got the vinyl, wait for a better version or rip it yourself.

    Sail on!

    Come on guys!

Just about 500 votes more! ;)

sorry for beeing OT, but …

    @Supernaut
: Why? Ok i prefer intro (which is quite good, better than visions i think) and uncle sally´s (which is ok but not more) but just because i´m always broke. (for the nongerms: they are free magazines)

but i wouldn´t say that visions sucks. There are hardly better magazines arround. Spex perhaps…

 yippieyayeaey! another summer of exitement about a new album, pleasent anticipation about the forthcoming one and the pure bliss of some concerts in Winter! Perfect!

Clever thing to have a favorite band, which is so productive! :MPD:

i bet snah and bent got a blowjob backstage. like robert and jimmy in the good old days.

thats the thing with rock music anyway: everything´s too cheesy and too over the top to take it totally serious. but who cares? it´s fun! :finger:
