@ crunch: European railroad is generally fine – but the German railroad unfortunately has become rather unreliable in the last years. Delays abounding, chaotic train management. You always get another train if you miss your connection, but still you should plan in enough spare time for travelling.
Flix train is a private company covering only a few central connections in Germany, but at very reasonable prices.
Flix trains are going from selected regular railway stations, but of course depend on the availability of the railway network, so depend on German Railway with respect to reliability.@ Bernie: We had that discussion some time ago and agreed in the forum that it would be a great idea to collect all the audio recordings there. Somebody approached MP management to get an o.k. for this idea – but as far as I know, no answer has materialized. I guess they are not too much interested altogether in having the taped stuff available for everybody, but probably if you contact them about the matter, that is something else.
Anyway – great idea!@ Juergen: Very good idea! Thank you for all your efforts – it is apprechiated!
@ Juergen: I fear we must consider losing Motortrades in the long run. Wouln’t it be wise to start transfering the stuff to DIME? I know how you generously have supplied Motortrades with lots of material almost alone in the past few years and am very grateful for it. But what’s the use if it is not accessible anymore? Would mean to give up a beloved trading platform, I know. But is it realistic to go on? I don’t know…
And… if it is really Snah on flute, I’ll say nothing more.
Who am I to critizise the Mighty Snah? If I could only play lead guitar half as good, I’d be more than happy.Just listened to MP’s version. Not overwhelmed though – but surely interesting. They should’ve left out the flute though – a little lame imho as an expert dilettante flutist. But they manage to capture the classic post-heyday feeling of latter-day Tull quite good ;-). The humour here lies in the Non-Tullisms of this version, i.e. rather unhumourous vibe of the piece, interesting instrumentation (flute exempt) and arrangement. Vocals rather identical though – but really good match, Bent! Missing the vital drive of early Tull performances/recordings – that take-no-prisoners approach of the Lemmy Kilmister of folk rock. (There’d probably be no fluting Ian A. without Lemmy K. and his old guitar, but that’s another story.) Hey – having a slow melodic Cello solo on “1916” – that was really something! (But I digress again). Anyway – in the spirit of the latter I plead for a re-recording with whistling instead of flute – earnestly! Better listen to the winds of change than smelling old farts ;-)

If there’s to be a cover of “My God”, I do have to apply indeed. Qualified as an expert air flute player at my last Anderson/Tull concert in 2012 (by chance, at Herzberg festival), but really studied the fucking solo since I began playing flute. I’ll leave the grunting and spitting to someone else though ;-)
Ingvald has an old flautist collegue who‘d sure love to try ✌️
Can’t wait for it to appear – Sailboat song! Wow! And HBM again! Exclamation mark!!!
I only do hope, Snah’s Answer was really Rainbow On Stage and NOT Rainbow Rising (which I adored as 16-year old and duefully repainted with water colours). That cover is really a conglomerate of bad taste, retro-romanticism (including CD Friedrich-Figure) and pseudo-classic brutalism – but might work as such extremely good in a pop (art) context ;-)

Cologne again – whoopee! Huray, it’s the 6th of May, Motorpsycho starts today…
Have to clear my couch for travelling guests until then, I suppose…And for Conne Island: read their statement. Support their attitude – a shame for what (non-)reasons and minimal coincidences you are being put on a boycot list these days…

Lacuna/Sunrise – first non-single in the set this year? Interesting and welcome.
I don’t think there is something like a neutral opinion in this matter. Nevertheless I found the sound/mix quite satisfying – couldn’t quite follow some commentaries about alledged lo-fi mix. I like listening to the album a lot – the discussed coloured vinyl sound is a minor matter imho.
I support the black vinyl proposal. Althhough the coloured “Neigh” looks quite good – better than many of those multicolor-mixes abounding these days. But the sound is clearly suffering. Had the same problem last year with a private vinyl release from some friends of mine. There is always a little background hiss that won’t go away.
Nevertheless I’m quite happy MP put out Neigh on Vinyl. I love the album – better than some of the recent releases, especially “Yay!”.
@ Deadnautpsychohead: It might however be, that you are ahead of the times philosophically / spiritually by walking unwired/unmobiled ;-)
They could use Kanaan’s drummer for a change ;-)
