Well, I contributed quite a lot to those Motorpsycho articles – the German one ( http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motorpsycho ) is pretty much all by me and the album articles on the english one too – and I try to keep the english main article updated (not alone of course) but well yeah, I’m not that motivated anymore.
magnus, there IS an ITS article ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_International_Tussler_Society ) and a Fishtank article too ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_the_Fishtank_10 )
But yeah, please do contribute.
As I’m not a fan of the newer albums (Kenneth-era) I cant really say a lot about them. If you do decide to write, please try to stay objective. I know we all love Motorpsycho but a “This is a fantasic record” and the like dont belong in an encylclopedia.
January 12, 2010 at 12:26 in reply to: Dagsavisen interview with Bent/Snah (January 12th, 2010) #15967It’s maybe also not exactly witchcraft to extent the number of copies made
“but the roadworks 3 isn’t the whole gig…if i remember correctly…”
no it isnt. not by far 8 songs out of 19, I think.
There is also a Motorpsycho group, if you havent joined yet: http://www.last.fm/group/Motorpsycho
and a group for the International Tussler Society: http://www.last.fm/group/T.I.T.S.
You people are always so weird towards Slow Phaseout and Neverland, I’ll never get that. But well, tastes are tastes I guess. Anyway, I voted. And concerning the top MP songs from the 2000s:
1) Serpentine
2) No Evil
3) The Other Fool
4) The Slow Phaseout
5) My Best Friend
Hm perhaps I’ll get vinyl and CD this time.
@Juergen concerning Vienna: I was there, and for further info see here: http://motorpsycho.fix.no/comeonin/oldforums/read.php?4,51343
“Mountain Song” from Wien 2008 was the “Mountain Jam” by the Allman Brothers Band as far as I remember.
My band is called Ruhestörung, and is on hiatus as my two fellow band colleagues both moved away
Anyway, I don’t know about MP influence, but I certainly nicked the chords of “Mad Sun” for a song ;P
Here are my sites:
http://www.ruhestoerung.eu  on there is info & stuff and also links to MySpace & Last.fm where you can download some of our stuff. I recommend the albums “Napalm” and “Distance”, they turned out more or less okay. Or just listen to the songs on MySpace.
I have been playing around alone this year, but nothing of substance has yet surfaced, I do have some song ideas lying around however, I’ll have to see to it that I record them proper someday.
Oh God, The Golden Core!! Wooohooo. Now I REALLY wanna see them this year, goddamn.
@LLM: Oh, no offense taken. It’s my personal list and does not need to fit your taste, after all. I’m not your everyday hard rock/metal listener, I like maintaining wide tastes, as you can see probably by the inclusion of several Pet Shop Boys albums and other pop alongside experimental stuff like Squarepusher or suicidal depressive black metal like Shining (again, the Swedish band, not the Norwegian one).
I still, however, advice anyone, who might be repelled by the names in the list, without having heard the actual music, to give it a try without a forebuilt opinion (even if that’s not easy, yes), you might like some of them. They all have wonderful melodies splattered all over them.
@harry: hah, I like someone loved Phanerothyme as much as I did.
@Vegard: Well, omission…never heard that record. Perhaps I’ll give it a spin
@GBD: I’m glad somebody else made a whole list. You got some great records in there too of course!
â€â€
I just realized a REAL omission in my list. Let them eat Cake. If I recall correctly, it was released in 2000, right? So you might interchange that with “A Girl Called Eddy”.
Sounds like a great setlist…hm….need MP this year, dammit.
Thanks for this, thats really great material!
I kinda liked Maxwells Silver Hammer.
