A great soundcheck clip of Nothing To Say:
Yeah, thanks for the encores, vortex155! Always nice hearing the sexy version of Close Your Eyes, aka Close Your Legs
If he has encoded the Kortrijk encores into mp3's, then Dime will not accept the upload. They only accept lossless versions (like FLAC).
Yeah, this is great stuff. All the 1997 bootlegs I have, are nothing short of amazing. The combination great performances/awesome setlists makes me think that 1997 was THE live-year for MP.
Thanks a lot for the scans! Great portrait of our favorite bassplayer!
Some quick cliff notes for those not fluent in Norwegian: There's not so much MP content in this (only the first page), as it's more a portrait of Bent and his own views & opinions. I was actually surprised to see him answer so many questions about his own personal life and on society in general. That's almost a first.
Funniest quote: "I have something akin to a masters degree in running a band. And I've almost got a PHD in non-compromising 'dængrock' after 23 years of Motorpsycho and The International Tussler Society." Not sure how 'dængrock' would be translated to English, something like 'pounding rock', I guess…
Signed.
Wow, by far the best setlist of this TDDU tour! I'm guessing the guys were in nostalgia mood because of revisting good old Bloom…
Hope you Italians had a great time
I don't wanna appear as a nitpicker, but in my Winamp Bombproof appears as 18:56 long
Awesome version, nonetheless! And thanks to everyone involved with this recording reaching the masses!
Holy shit, this version of Close Your Eyes is just too good! All the more annoying that they made the straightforward piano-version on HMF, when they could've blown our minds with this one, instead. Ah well, download the bootlegs!
It's up on Dime, btw. Thanks to Spacebandit for this incredible sounding boot!
Quote:Hey folks, are the spanish dates in may really confirmed?
According to this link Stale is playing with Supersilent in Hamburg at the 26th of may. At the same date MP should be playing in Vitoria-Gasteiz. How can this get together? Do you think they will do non-unicorn-shows in spain?
Here's the answer
StÃ¥le will not join them on the Spanish dates because of the Supersilent gigs… It also says that they will play some Unicorn songs, but also some cosmic, trippy rock (of old, I guess)
Bad news for the Spanish people: Storløkken will not join the Spanish dates because Supersilent is playing some concerts then. Just the power trio for those concerts…
Close Your Eyes! How was this version? Same as the sludgy, doomy version in Norway last year? Or more back to the jazzy, lighter 2002 version?
It's cool that they're mixing up the encores slightly.
Focusing on something more positive in that vid: Looks like there was a decent crowd attending the gig? Anyone wanna guess how many?
As for the leather jacket incident:
Quote:has any recording of Taifun from this tour surfaced yet..?Yes, you can find it on the Bergen bootleg.
Quote:I wouldn't agree on that considering their post 1980 and especially the most current stuff but their earlier albums really are a chalk-on-the-board listen due to him.Ok, I haven't heard much of the post 1980 material, so he might've moderated his singing drastically for all I know. But it kinda annoys me that 70's Rush are so musically competent, and then Geddy Lee doesn't vary his robotic Jon Anderson-falsetto at all. He sounds dangerously similar to a smurf at times
