    Wow, great list and front-cover!

Just love it that you created the Anthology on Grooveshark!

    :-)

I will listen to it in the next few days (and days after) & in the mean time create my own 4CD compilation tracklist on Grooveshark.

    Thanks for the effort!

in reply to: Motorpsycho’s favourite album list! #11437

(Thanks to Castaway Prince for posting the link)

    Glad y’all like it!

After many times of unsuccessfully trying to update the Favourite Album list I thought that creating a Motorpsycho-theme-station is not so bad idea!

It took me lots of hours to request all the songs but it is now ‘in the air’,

I used: the only 2 Motorpsycho-albums that are to be found on Songza (BH-BC & In the Fishtank), this thread, the Trivia & Gossip section, personal favourites from the boys, checked out the covers (Tussler incl.) from the records and setlists, former bands (Kenneth’s), musicians who contributed to MP records etc. etc. and I’m still not finished.

I even put Prince’s Raspberry Beret up there because MP supposed to have played it once or twice but later down-voted it because it stands out too much.

A lot of Grateful Dead that’s for sure!

The station is playing all the time on my PC because I haven’t/hadn’t heard a lot of the songs before. When you listen to them you can almost pinpoint some of the major ingredients of the Motorpsycho pastiche.

When listening to Songza you have to take in mind:

A lot of the times when you open the station you can hear songs (and often in the same sequence) that you heard last time you checked in.

That is a major flaw with Songza but it’s still in it’s Beta phase so the program will improve in the, hopefully near, future. (I’ve send Songza a e-mail concerning these matters but I’m sure they already knew :) )

You can click the ‘next song’ button >I but that only works for a couple of songs in a row, best thing to do is to refresh the page everytime you had enough of the song that is playing at that time.

You can search and request the songs that you know would belong on this station so don’t hesitate to do so!

It probably is already on the playlist 8) but it definitely wouldn’t hurt to try.

Some artists are not part of the huge database like: The Beatles, Pharaoh Sanders, Sanderfinger, only 1 (!) original King Crimson song to name a few.

Then there are the times that you can find the artist but not the record you are looking for.

You’ll notice that all the albums are alphabetically but there are not more then 10 pages to choose from, just type the artists name and the name of the album in one sentence and most likely you are on your merry way.

Sometimes you only find songs, from the album your looking for, on a live- or compilation album.

    Keep in mind:

Please don’t put your personal favourites up there, it is Motorpsycho’s favourite Songs & Album’s List.

If you are in doubt just put a comment here or on the station’s comment section.

There might be a few songs that are up there already and might not belong there so let me know!

It’s free, you don’t need to login before requesting songs on this station.

    Enjoy!

in reply to: OT:Radiohead lend their music to fan-made live DVD #18224

    Thanks!

I downloaded the concert and it is great!

This really put me in a new Radiohead fase for a while :-)

    Together with Scotch Mist.

It would be awesome to film a Motorpsycho concert like that, although I can’t promise to stand completely still for 150 minutes. (My mobile phone couldn’t handle it anyway)

I like to slip into the music and close my eyes from time to time :D

Maybe a good idea for the next tour:

If somebody would like to ensemble it, in combination with an excellent audio recording, we all could send him/her our concert-footage and so create the next Roadworks-DVD.

A one concert thing or a compilation from the whole tour. (This only goes if there are good audio recordings from the same event)

A similar thread has already been discussed here but the final product ended up as a extended (and excellent) 4CD compilation.

A 2CD compilation would be a breeding ground for some interesting discussions, suggestions, fistfights and broking hearts but the end result nevertheless turn out incomplete because of the fast amount of excellent songs our Norwegian friends have recorded.

I bet you can fill three or four 2CD’s that are equally compatible.

Well, back in 1977 NASA launched Voyager 1 and included 2 Voyager golden records with only 27 compositions.

If NASA can make a selection so can we :!:

    Good luck

    @ Eirik Peirik,

so what ever happened with the guitar?

    in reply to: Øyafestivalen #16633

    Hey Seattle Psychonaut,

I could send you a 2cd copy of the recording, if nobody mind anyway.

I also have recordings from the ’09 Patronaat Haarlem & Verkstedhallen Trondheim gig’s plus a few older ones.

By the way, if somebody send me a inventation for Motortrades I would be chuffed!

in reply to: Totally OT but good for a laugh #17928

    G’Day mate!

I had to laugh at the ‘Pump up a strangers tires’ bit.

    (timing and deliverance)

Here in Holland we have coffee-shops plus the occasional house dealer where you can buy your s#!t so we maybe handle different standards for weed dealing than the Aussie’s might do (plus a different sense of humor).

Well, Oz converted to the metric system so we might not be so different at all 8O

We mainly have some Dutch bizarre comedy series here on tv:

‘New kids on the block’, ‘Draadstaal’, ‘Toren C’ and British series like ‘The Fast Show’.

The house-dealers I knew in my ‘erb-rollie days were quite some characters, some of them could write a book of funny, interesting and sometimes incoherent stories about music, conspiracy theories, UFO’s and days long gone when they still had the major mass of their braincells left, indeed: they got high from their own supply!

Australian sports-team jokes won’t always fly, for example, we don’t have Footy (Australian rules football) here.

Beer is appreciated everywhere despite difference in brands, we all like our coldie.

But I would have to say that you better stay to your ridgy-didge Oz-roots, if it makes you laugh it probably make somebody else laugh :!:

    Australian for beginners?

Not dinky-di yet but you are well on your way!

Better then most programs on the telly.

    But hey!

Who am I to say what’s funny!

    Comedy is a serious business.

I’m not funny, I like fart jokes (I laugh at my own farts but please don’t tell anybody!) I use those bleeding :D as a way of explaining myself and I had to consult the Australian slang dictionary for the lingo…

    Keep up the good work!

in reply to: [OT] so who’s it going to be? #17666

The best team won although if Robben flipped that ball (x2) over the Spanish goalie I couldn’t care less who’s best or not.

    Congrats to Spain.

    Aaaaarggh!

in reply to: lowcut review of the fruit #16759

    It’s a link, so…

Just throwing you a bone here.

in reply to: [OT] so who’s it going to be? #17663

    Well, go figure…

Spain, FC Barcelona basically, plays awesome football and according to (and expected by) the professionals they are destined to win the cup.

And I’m afraid they are right!

Holland didn’t play their best (yet) but won all matches which keeps my hopes up for a victory.

    OLE!

in reply to: [OT] so who’s it going to be? #17659

If you only watch the World Cup to be awe-struck by excellent football this clearly is not your tournament (except if you are rooting for ze Germans).

Expectations often turn into disappointments and misery due to the lack of overview or even realism because of the focus on one certain outcome, this said…

I expect the Germans to win the Cup!

Let’s wait and see supernaut, maybe this week your wishes will be granted.

    HUP HOLLAND!

If Holland wins the World Cup I would be well chuffed!
