yeah, mellotron rules!
And, yeah, i wouldn´t mind having deathprod back :MPD:
classic VG review. No content at all, and a safe “i dont know its cool or not to like them anymore: 4”.
The other norwegian tabloid, Dagbladet, gave it a 5, and a slighty better written review. Couldn´t find a link for it
Got mine today. After first listen, I´m happy! Putting it on again now… And it looks good too
The fantastic MC5 album “high time” is essential. Besides the name, un´cien has some elemtens from the song Future/Now
Hawkwind – Doremi Fasol Latido
Sonic Youth – Confusion is Sex
Sun Ra – Angels and Demons at Play
Grateful dead – Anthem of the Sun
The Almann Brothers Band – S/T
Captain Beefhart – Stricktly Personal
MC5 – High time
Indeed, refrences are everywhere! Too keep the thread from getting too messy lets keep this to musical refrenses, and as said, though maybe I was a bit unclear, add the album of the source to the list.
Hawkwind – Doremi Fasol Latido

Theres no stoppin´ the cretins from hoppin´
Quote:dark, aggressive and rather sharp to my earsMy child, this is a good thing.
Quote:i don´t like Geb´s songs. except one: “when you´re dead” that one is great!…the rest are “skip”-songs. always!Totally agree
Walking with J, never let you out… horrible, horrible songs
THE WHEEL!
I don´t mind doubles or triples either (DB, TM, A&D,LLM are all perfect as they are), but as a general rule I prefer quality or quantity
Oh, and here are my perfect version of BHBC:
Side A:
01. No Evil
02. In Our Tree
03. Coalmine Pony
04. Kill Devil Hills
Side B:
01. Critical Mass
02. The 29th Bulletin
03. Devil Dog
04. Triggerman
Bonus LP the first 1000 copies of BHBC:
Side A:
01. Hyena
02. Sancho Says
03. Sail On
04. The Ace
05. L.T.E.C. (deja-vulture blues)
Side B:
01. You Lose
02. Before The Flood
03. Fury On Earth
04. With Trixeene Through The Mirror, I Dream With Open Eyes
Quote:@ Elvin: Seriously? Skip the whole of disc 2 on BH/BC? Are there really no songs that you like on there?I like most of them, but I love the first disc.
Quote:Woah some people’s expectations are quite high. If I was in a band that wrote and played BOTH Trust Us and BhBc in their entirety (!), I could die a happy man. [8O]Hey, sometimes less is more, even (or perhaps, espesially) in motorpsycholand.
It not that i think those albums arn´t any good as they are (in fact they are both great) but they could always have been be better. I would definitly rank both albums higher if they cut some of the lesser songs.
That´s my main problem with mp: that they´ve written some of my alltime favorite songs, but are also capable of releasing pure crap (neverland comes to mind)
This is actually sort of good news, as I can´t afford it right now
The worst album definitly Barracuda. While Lobotomizer and Soothe might not be good albums either, I still feel there´s something special to them. I loved them when they came out, but hardly listen to them anymore. It´s the sound of a young, searching band. As for Barracuda, it´s plain boring.
As for overrated, I definitly agree with JTR on Trust Us. I don´t see why so many think it´s their best. Like BHBC, been cut down to a single LP.
The filler, should of course been released like a leftover mini LP or EPs
The Perfect Trust us IMO;
Side A
1. Psychonaut
2. The Ocean In Her Eye
3. Taifun
4. Syddhardtino
Side B:
1. Dolphin
2. Radiance Frequency
4. Hey, Jane
3. Vortex Surfer
As for BHBC, they could have skipped the second disc.
nice.
Let´s just hope it´s a brazillin times better than Barracuda
