Didn’t directly pointed that to Kenneth, maybe I expressed it a little incorrect. I wouldn’t say one or the other is better or worse of course.

What I mean is that I think it’s cooler to have a nice, more or less planned out drum-track on the album (in general). The same for other instruments.

To me it just sounds as Gebs drumming was very well thought about before recording.

The last albums are just a little too loose in a whole. I say A LITTLE! :)

Again, not to compare this with the live performance, the current MP is just insane live! Now catch that feel on the albums too!

I really dig drummers like Keith Moon or Mitch Mitchell. But they are close to genius and played with even more genuis minds in their bands! :) They are on another level.

I really don’t think that it’s “a matter of fact” that Kenneth is the “better” drummer. He may be technically better but that’s just a little part of the drumming art.

Playing fills all over the place all the time is less interesting as having a few cool breaks that come sharp as a knife here and there. And to keep back is not so easy for alot of musicians, that’s an art in itself I think.

For me Geb still layed down the more interesting drums in the studio so far.

I’m just more a fan of planned out drum tracks when it’s about recording in the studio. Or more produced albums in a whole.

It’s a different story live as you could see on the tour what a tight rhythm-section Bent and Kenneth have developed in the meantime. They just have to get that on tape and I hope for Heavy Metal Fruit in that case!

Yeah, saw them on sunday here in Munich. So great! That sexy jazzy thing was Interlude with Ludes which was interpreted in a great way. Josh was pretty drunk but did his parts just perfect and cool. Had two or three songs with a very nice build up (must have been Daffodils and Warsaw)! They obviously had a great time on stage and it was fun to watch! The mosh pit was hard at times but I couldn’t prevent me to freak out as well… sorry! ;)

I have no insight into this band and and their feelings and I don’t know what happened during the time from LTEC on.

But from my view I wouldn’t say Geb is worse than Kenneth as a musician or drummer.

And it’s not needed to express anything bad or good about a friend (still is or was) in an official interview.

But who cares anyway, it’s not really important, it’s all about the music! And I hope for Geb to make his way further on musically, he was a the “carrier of sympathy” for the band back then in my opinion. :)

yeah, a little uncool what bent does there… whatever kenneth is for the band now, geb contributed to the whole mp sound and indeed was a good drummer.

I like it pretty much, owning it for a few days now. It’s not easy music but there’s only one or two songs I don’t dig too much yet. Complete side A and half of B rocks and songs like Reptiles or Scumbag Blues are just cool! And the intro to Elephants must be counted to the most rocking ever!

The production for me is just perfect. They couldn’t have done it any better.

    My past band: http://www.myspace.com/hainloose

Stoner-pop-rock, I was the drummer. We’re friends of Colour Haze btw. :)Our little scene in Munich. Another great band from here, more heavy and noisy: http://www.myspace.com/ughmusic

    And my current band: http://www.myspace.com/dawnband

We’re just recording our album. The songs on the site are way old and mainly acoustic. We’re coming soon with a full rock-album. :)

All that stuff and more can be found on http://www.elektrohasch.de , the label of Colour Haze singer Stefan Koglek.

@ GBD: The only song that fits the sound pretty good is The Alchemyst in my opinion. One of their best ever! :)

I mentioned that sometime earlier but yes I also don’t like how they captured the singing on the last albums either. Too much fx and it sounds like 10 vocal-tracks at the same time which totally lacks in clarity. Singing it in tune in the first place would probably help… ;)

It seems Snah really makes an effort to sing these days but Bent only when “he’s in the mood”. He may just not care about it but sometimes it’s sad since he does have a good voice and could bring it more in the front.

However I’m really looking forward to heavy metal fruit! Everything may be different with this album as far as recording goes! :)

I only listened to the album on the net and of what I’ve heard I think it’s very great!

Have to get it on vinyl and listen to it more often to get to know the songs better (before seeing them in Munich on Dec 6th!! :).

Really I just think I wished the last couple or the new MP record would sound like this. So perfectly balanced between rawness and clarity. Would fit to MPs new style very good.

I’m sorry but oversubtly said COTF sounds like a demo record against this to me. When I saw them in Treviso I stood in the front row and wondered why they don’t get this sound and feeling on tape?!? They did in the past (Trust Us, Blissard, LTEC, Phanerothyme) but the last albums just could’ve sounded way better.

Worked for me when I changed the beginning of the address to “http”:

Have to agree with Supernaut: This is sung very well in the Motorpsycho context.

We didn’t find you either but we had to stay until the party was over and that was 3:00!! We wanted to call a taxi cause we had to go back to Treviso to our hotel but the security told us there’s no taxi going at that time… So one of the security guys offered us to drive us back in his car but of course he had to stay until the end. So we were in the hotel at around 4:00! S’*”! ;-)

Let’s see what more dates are coming for the 2010 tour, would be cool to have a chance to meet you again!

Hey! Greetings to V1 and was nice talking to you before the gig! Really cool idea with the birthday cake.

Concert was a blast, what a tight rhythm section and Snah was on fire. They have developed a pretty perfect sound in the meantime, really enjoyed it.

Here’s 4 pics from their equipment if anyone is interested (not too good quality, only had my handy). Didn’t know that Bent is now using a Roland PK5, even though I didn’t hear it at all when he stepped on it.

After a few more spins this records starts to really grow on me too.

First thought it had weak moments here and there, but those ones start to give me more and more now.

Riding The Tiger is #1 up to now followed by Ozzylot and Mr. Victim, Diana, COTF / Waiting Game and least favourite still Cornucopia. It always reminds me of Triggerman which I never liked too much.

It’s incredible how most MP albums need their time and close listening. That is probably the reason why they are not gettig more famous but that’s a good thing and why I love this band so much. Even though I’d allow them more people to get to know them.
