Oooh, a new album, probably a double, hopefully this year
I really like the last album too. Will check out the EP.
Rockpalast video of King Buffalo at Freak Valley Festival:
Cool. I hope we soon get some news about the material the band wrote and recorded in collaboration with Ola Kvernberg and Lars Horntveth in honour of Håkon Gullvåg.
According to the setlist posted on setlist.fm for the 23rd February show, Paus and MP played every track off Så nær, så nær, a bunch of others (that I presume are Paus golden oldies), and opened with Whip That Ghost.

Instagram post from the lads regarding their recent shows with Ole Paus:
"Oh, wow…!
We want to extend a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to everybody who came out to the shows we did with Ole at @hamarkulturhus and @operaen_ this weekend!
We are all stoked and thrilled by all the positive feedback we’ve gotten for both the record and the shows – truly beyond! We had high hopes, but never expected anything like this!
It has been challenging having to get used to in-ear monitors and working at an ‘Ole-friendly’ volume level on stage, but you learn from every venture into the unknown you take, and this will hopefully just make us a better band! Thanks to Ole’s people (Arne, Ashley, Svein Erik, et al. ) who made this such an enjoyable experience!
We are really grateful that Psychonauts are so open minded and accepting of all our extracurricular activities – cheers, you guys are amazing!"

Statistically more people survive if they think only of Motorpsycho
Well, I've booked a room (with free cancellation
)for three nights in Berlin as if I go I'll stay for the whole Desertfest. Tempting.
A few books I've read in the past few years that some of you might find worth tracking down in relation to some of the topics coming up in this thread:
Dino Knudsen, "The Trilateral Commission and Global Governance" (Routledge, 2016)
Cliff DuRand, "Moving Beyond Capitalism" (Routledge, 2016)
Graham Dunkley, "One World Mania: A Critical Guide to Free Trade, Financialization and Over-Globalization" (Zed Books / University of Chicago Press, 2016)
Antonio Pinto, "Corporatism and Fascism: The Corporatist Wave in Europe" (Routledge, 2017)
Matthew L. Bergbower, "A Profile of the American Electorate: Partisan Behavior and the Need for Reform" (Routledge, 2018)
Mareile Pfannebecker and James A. Smith, "Work Want Work: Labour and Desire at the End of Capitalism" (Zed Books / University of Chicago Press, 2019)
Teppo Eskilinen (ed.), "The Revival of Political Imagination: Utopias as Methodology" (Zed Books, 2020) (Due out later this year).
Thanks for posting the video suntripper. I was at this Ronnie Scott's gig last month, my friends and I taking up most of the tables right in front of the stage. We had such an incredible view of Thorsten, first arriving at the venue and setting up his kit, but then of course his magnificent playing – what a phenomenal drummer! What an incredible band! In 2018, three of us had flown over to Norway see E9 and Motorpsycho at Drammen, and when one of us later spoke with Bent at the acoustic gig in London, he mentioned the Drammen gig to Bent who replied, oh yeah, Elephant9 blew us off the stage that night!
And I absolutely agree with your assessment of the Psychedelic Backfire albums. THough both are brilliant, the one with Fiske is my favourite of the two.
@GBD Thanks
@otherdemon Thanks. I'm not much of a fan of the last track either, though I could possibly have a different opinion if I understood the language!
So … I listened to the album on Spotify this morning. I wasn't expecting to like it. I didn't like the single ("Gud bevare landsbyen min") and that had reminded me enough of TITS to feel less than enthusiatic (as I'm not really a fan of the TITS albums). Imagine my surprise, when track after track I found myself liking the album more and more. Even "Gud bevare landsbyen min" sounded great in context. Fantastic – lining it up now for a second spin.
I have a question for those in the know – who is playing the acoustic guitar on the two shorter acoustic numbers ("Helt tilfeldig" and "Blonde beist")? The first of these two songs really reminded me of great Canadian singer-songwriter Bruce Cockburn. Anyway, I was wondering if that would be Paus himself playing.
We had some heated discussion about the Ayn Rand influences earlier in this thread. Neil later dropped his support for Rand's politics.
RIP Neil.
Brilliant! Thank you sooooo much
Fantastic! I hope you and Blashrykh can collaborate in some way to make it easier to realise your individual visions of a setlist database.
