One of the best Oslo gigs in years. A lot of long and great jams. Absolutely mindblowing show, especially K9!!! What build-up and intensity! Ratcatcher was great. The Satan medley also contained the F Zappa "King Kong" theme to my great pleasure. All "Blissard" times were played to perfection. Great to have Numbness as encore.

Wonder if they'll do a gig in Oslo before starting the European tour? There are several slots available at Rockefeller/Sentrum Scene in the time frame 18 (Stavanger)-28 (Berlin) April…
Quote:but why on white vinyl? Some audophiles claim that the coloring substance used for black vinyl has a magnetic property that may influence the sound quality. White vinyl doesn't have this and is thus preferred. Looks pretty cool too I'm not sure why MP has chosen white vinyl though…
Cool! Teaser indeed! As for the 14th song I'm voting for Taifun or Gullibiles Travails. However, they might be rehearsing a song that already has strings/reed/horns, e.g. from LTEC or Love Cult – If so, I'd love to hear Upstairs Downstairs…or 30/30, that would be amazing (still remember the amazing performance in the church concerts!!!). The Other Fool is of course something they might consider?
CDs+book pre-ordered from Rune G. Exciting times.

Btw, I had a chat with Snah at Zappanale. We were mostly discussing Zappa and "Mothers of Invention" concerts we both have been to, but I had to sneak in some nerdy Psychnaut questions also. His favourite guitar pickup is the P90, which he confirmed having in most his guitars. At Zappanale they were travelling light and borrowed most of their equipment from Tos. Snah actually didn't bring any of his own guitars and played loaned guitars (all vintage Gibsons from the 60ies). I asked if they would play the Unicorn gigs at the Opera with the same volume as they played on the Unicorn tour (which was LOUD) considering the all the other instruments on stage, the soundscape etc. He replied that they would have to check out how it all sounded on soundcheck, but the did indeed intent to play really loud He commented that the opera surely can take a sonic beating . Then he got a phonecall and I was left with my last nagging question: what is Bent actually singing in "The Alchemyst"? The will have to wait till next time
Excellent news!
The cathedral concerts are great and I just looove Blissard. Wouldn't mind extra material from that period if any was available….
As I'm both a Psychonaut and a Zappateer I'm teaming up with a couple of friends and heading for Bad Doberan tomorrow. I'll try to report the setlist and other trivia on the Motorpsycho News FB site. Since a lot of the bands playing at Zappanale plays the incredible music of Frank Zappa, I've been playing with the (unrealistic) thought of MP pulling of a FZ cover. If they did, what would it be? I'd love to hear them jam out e.g. Muffin Man, Black Napkins, Pound for a Brown…Anyway, looking forward to drinking some nice German beer and listening to fantastic music for 3 days, crowned by MP playing on Saturday! :MPD:

Thore Hansen also excellently illustrated the classic (maritime) Norwegian childrens books called "Ruffen". Google it and enjoy the pictures.
Wow! That's amazing. You lucky italians
Wow, excellent clip! Was the whole show filmed/recorded? Bootleg DVD on its way?
At Rockefeller last year I was extremely annoyed at the shot sound for 1h, then I moved 10 m further back and had great sound for the rest of the show. I think I was initially was standing in a spot where there was a tremendous constructive interference with the bass sound – at least that was all I could hear (it might also have been a destructive interference of the guitar frequencies). I is indeed wise to move around a bit if the sound is shit.
