Incredible setlist! Wow!!! 8O :MPD:
I forgot to say that I think Kenneth has taken Motorpsycho to another level. They way things have turned out makes me think it was a good thing for Motorpsycho that Geb quit.
Regarding the “long time till we visit Rockefeller again” comment, I thought it was something like that as well. They will be playing with Rikskonsertene next year that will consume some time of course. Maybe that’s why? Anyway, Sentrum is SO much better. I’d love to see MP there next time.
It was indeed a very good concert. The COTF stuff was fabolous live. I really don’t understand how they manage to pin down such excellent tunes time after time. No other bands in Norway are even close to MP. Here’s my breakdown of the setlist:
Year Zero – Great. I really like the dynamics of this song (especially live)
For Free – Heavy and intense. Excellent. Full power.
Glow – I cannot recollect having hear this version before. Nevertheless, VERY nice.
High Time – One of the best song intros ever. Excellent.
Whole Lotta Diana – Not my favourite from COTF, but still very tight and cool live. Veeery cool jam.
No Evil – Good, but I find this boring live. Been played too often.
Mr. Victim – I love it. Snahs vocal is great on this song. Really nice.
Bedroom Eyes – OK, but I would prefer accoustic guitar here…Very good singing.
Watersound – One of my all time favourites live. With the strobes going mad at the quite->heavy transition it’s mindblowing
The Ozzylot – Very cool and groovy.
Cornucopia – My favourite (alon with Riding the Tiger) from COTF. Really cool live.
All Is loneliness – Very nice “dark” and hard hitting version. The Moog Taurus shaking my guts to pieces.
Plan #1 – Very nice as usual. Could possibly be skipped (played a lot live last tours)
Feel – Bent fucked up the start so they started over. Not a favourite, but OK.
Upstairs&Downstairs – I love this song (and the trio versions of it live), but I don’t think they managed to nail it this time. Still good though.
Kill Devil Hills – Yes! Very good with the classic hard hitting ending. Great!
The Alchemyst – Oh yes….sweeeet. The intiensity of this song live is immense. Got the adrenaline really going!
Greener – On of the best performances of this I’ve ever seen live. And the crowd was indeed TOTALLY quite during the quite parts. I was almost shocked! Great way to end the gig.
I must admit that I missed a song or two from Trust Us. Say VS in stead of Feel and Taifun in stead of No Evil and it would have ranged in the top 3 MP gigs I’ve been to.
Very nice setlist. Looking forward to tonight. I remeber Kenneth saying that he’d never touch anything else than the drums. Bent and Snah have indeed managed to Gebify him Was Feel and Bedroom Eyes played on electric or accoustic instruments?
I’m crossing my fingers for Taifun on tonights setlist.
Thanks GBD!
Rockefeller ticket secured. I’m really looking forward to this concert. I wonder whether they’ll add an extra gig in southern Norway at the 15th? I’m also looking forward to the MP+Supersilent Rikskonsertene Tour next year- that will surely result in some great spaced out jams.

Oh, and by the way. Mars Volta ticket also secured. Another fantastic live band.
Due to a recent severe addiction to Frank Zappa I’ve not gotten around to buying COTF until yesterday. Now it’s waiting for me at the post office. I’ll take it to a friend of mine tomorrow (who has a record player) so we can listen through it. Reading all the comments in this thread has given me great expectations!
Nice discussion guys! I’m looking forward to buying the LP even though I don’t own a record player. I think this might be the moment in life I’ll actually buy one. I’ve always thought about getting one and now I’ve got the perfect opportunity. They’re probably pretty cheap of Ebay or Finn.
cheers

What matters is that MP is releasing new music. I don’t think they are ego, it’s just a materialisation of their eccentricity. What matters is that MP is releasing new music. The only thing that confuses/worries me a bit is that MP must be aware that the LP will be ripped to digital format, and most likely a rip that sounds crap. Does MP want their fans to listen to a bad quality rip of their most current release? I think not. I don’t own a record player, thus I will have to rip the LP after buying it. I’m not very happy about that, but at least I then get to listen to the new MP release whenever I want.
I’ve got “You Loose” worked out and I’m planning to make an acoustic version. So that’s one song from BH/BC covered at least. Just have to get off my ass and buy that bloody soundcard
It’s very likely that I’ll be there
Come on guys, are you really sure an Aftenposten journalist has inside info on the MP touring plan this year? I think not. He may of course be right, BUT he’s most likely just had a look at the limited number of upcoming gigs and arrived at this premature conclusion (I hope). The only thing the worries me is that recording session that failed. The likeliness of an extensive tour without a new release is small I guess…….
Did anyone get a tickt for this show? It was supposed to be for sale from 9:00 this morning at billett24.no. However, there was no info on the show around 8:50 this morning. I checked back again at 9:08 and the gig had suddenly appeared. I immediately tried to buy a ticket, but it was sold out. 500 tickets sold out within 8 minutes at a venue in Halden!? What’s going on!? There must have been a pre-sale of some sort or what? Bloody annoying anyway……. :x
Anyway….maybe MP will play at the new Halden kulturhus on future tours as the good old Studentsamfunnet has shut down. Would be nice.
