Quote:@kjellepelle: I know well-read people who don't give a sh** about supernatural horror stories. And considering what I know about Bent (through his lyrics and inteviews), he doesn't strike me as a fan of that kinda stuff.
@Great King Rat: Well, I do think that kjellepelle knows Bent better than both you and me, since he has actually worked for the band.

I'm as big a fan of the author H. P. Lovecraft as I am of Motorpsycho, so I thought I'd check this further… The few times I've talked to Bent at length we haven't discussed literature, so yesterday I asked my good friend Kjell Runar "Killer" Jenssen about this. He says that Bent is indeed a fan of Lovecraft. So is Killer, and that's way he included a quote from Lovecraft's "The Nameless City"* in the matrices of the Lobotomizer LP: "THAT IS NOT DEAD WITCH [sic] CAN ETERNAL LIE / AND WITH STRANGE AEONS EVEN DEATH MAY DIE" (which was also used in the cover illustration for Iron Maiden's Live After Death album). So there has been a Lovecraft reference ever since the first album, although Bent or Snah had nothing to do with that, since they were both on holiday when the album was prepared for pressing.
My information source is Bent, whom I talked to after the performance.
The track "Here Be Monsters" is as long as the live version and consequently didn't fit on the album, so it'll be released separately by the band as a tour only 12".
There will also be two performances in Bergen on February 4 and 5.
Great list, marty! I guess some of those radio recordings could be released as singles.
Forgot about that easter egg. But my point still stands. If they could pay less for NRK material they probably would have included more (relevant) and longer clips.
The Bizarre-Festival was only an idea because it was professionally filmed. So I guess a DVD without CD/2xLP would be enough.
Cool! Thanks for the link! And it means collectors like me will have to buy it again!
Oh, and I like your idea of a strictly acoustic album!
Hahaha! That American version of Demon Box story never seems to go away…
I've never seen a US version of SWB. I don't think it exists.
CotF is a great album and should be reissued for those who missed it first time round. But I haven't heard of any reissue plans.
Several of the copies of Maiden Voyage are well enough preserved to act as a decent "master" for a vinyl reissue. It's never gonna be hi-fi anyway!

And yeah, using NRK material is very expensive. I guess that's why no NRK material was included on the Haircuts 2xDVD. I hope MP can get a good deal someday, so they'll able to release stuff from the NRK archives. And not just video, but also audio. NRK Radio have recorded quite a few MP shows, and the sound is of course excellent.
Turning over every copy I see now, but no luck so far…

The "I don't have a record player" excuse is getting old…
Does anyone recognize the song that is played in the middle of "Mountain" at the end of the DVD? I know that riff, but can't remember what it is…
Sorry for the lack of updates! Due to other obligations, I'm a little behind with this project. I expect to have the site ready sometime this summer. I'm using WordPress for the site, mostly because that's what I use for my other sites. I have considered making a Wiki, which has many advantages, but also some limitations, like everything else, I guess… So WordPress it is.
I'm considering launching the site before all content is ready. It's not gonna be 100 % complete from the start anyway… I will start with giving access to some test users, i.e. people that have contributed valuable information. But before that, please send your information to me at petterfe@gmail.com or post it in this thread.
