Quote:@ Elvin: Seriously? Skip the whole of disc 2 on BH/BC? Are there really no songs that you like on there?
I like most of them, but I love the first disc.
Quote:Woah some people’s expectations are quite high. If I was in a band that wrote and played BOTH Trust Us and BhBc in their entirety (!), I could die a happy man. [8O]Hey, sometimes less is more, even (or perhaps, espesially) in motorpsycholand.
It not that i think those albums arn´t any good as they are (in fact they are both great) but they could always have been be better. I would definitly rank both albums higher if they cut some of the lesser songs.
That´s my main problem with mp: that they´ve written some of my alltime favorite songs, but are also capable of releasing pure crap (neverland comes to mind)
This is actually sort of good news, as I can´t afford it right now
The worst album definitly Barracuda. While Lobotomizer and Soothe might not be good albums either, I still feel there´s something special to them. I loved them when they came out, but hardly listen to them anymore. It´s the sound of a young, searching band. As for Barracuda, it´s plain boring.
As for overrated, I definitly agree with JTR on Trust Us. I don´t see why so many think it´s their best. Like BHBC, been cut down to a single LP.
The filler, should of course been released like a leftover mini LP or EPs
The Perfect Trust us IMO;
Side A
1. Psychonaut
2. The Ocean In Her Eye
3. Taifun
4. Syddhardtino
Side B:
1. Dolphin
2. Radiance Frequency
4. Hey, Jane
3. Vortex Surfer
As for BHBC, they could have skipped the second disc.
nice.
Let´s just hope it´s a brazillin times better than Barracuda
Delayed again
From Rune Grammofon
“The brand new Motorpsycho vinyl only release is a bit delayed due to the spectacular design work, but we hope it will be ready for release on 26. June. As soon as we can confirm a date, we will open for pre-orders.”
mmmmmmmm, Specatular design work
Fun house is probably my alltime favorite album, and yeah, the title pretty much says it all
Was that the “rockopera bestillingsverk” thingy?
Oh joy!
Even more fun to look forward too.
They are playing together if i´m not mistaken.
(as in not motorpsycho + support: supersilent)
As i´m pretty sure this will be amazing, if this does not qualify for a new roadworks LP, then nothing does.
May 27, 2009 at 11:30 in reply to: Motorpsycho in Oslo-studio creating a NEW ALBUM! (Not Child Of The Future) #12074HAPPY DAYS!!! Oooh crap, I think I just wet myself…
Went to see them not long after demon box was out, to check out what the hype was all about.
AND GOT BLOWN AWAY!
Needless to say, I bought Demon box asap after that.
Think Soothe was 2nd and Lobo 3rd, but it could be the other way round.
The Mountain and Another Ugly EPs were also bought sometime between DM and TM.
Yup, I was hooked.
From TM and out, the records where bought on or very close to releaseday.
Exception, Phanerothyme, as I started to loose interest with Cake, and totally hating barracuda.
Serpentine fueled my hopes for love cult, so I was back at the recordshop for that one (but was again a bit dissapointed,).
Think I bought Phanero a couple of weeks after the lovely In the fishtank, mainly to fill a hole in the MP collection. I remember thinking it was way better than feared (but still not a good record IMO)(by mp standards)
and with BH/BC the love was back…
A little side note again, but this is what happens we only have one (or actually two if we include the mark one) places were we discuss non MP stuff
What if we have a whole off topic section (like the setlist, media section), wewe can start new OT subtopics. So can fabchannel, jazz and whatnot be a bit easier to discuss.
no?
Quote:Regarding the OT thread: I won’t ignore Mark. He’s got many a nice point both in there and other threads. I just think he might have overused that thread abit. In between his posts, someone tried to talk about the death of fabchannel among other things. It would have been nice to discuss that for awhile, but his posts hid the story. So. Let’s try again shall we…I´ve always thought of it as a reply (fuck you) too those who yelled SELLOUT! when they signed to a majorlabel and stopped making noisemetal.
Also actually about his MP logo tattoo (thats what he has tattoed isn´t it)
– meaning he´s all dedicated to MP
“i´m Bent, MP is my band, and i do whatever i wanna do (like release a vinyl only album), so fuck all you haters”
I´ve never cared to much about lyrics thou, so i´m probably way off. I´m not even sure that he has the logo tattooed, Great song btw
thanks for the links, dudes
That´s not what I mean´t
You know:
Young -> time and energy to travel to another country just to go to a rockfestival without thinking of kids, wife, work and grown up life in general (that said, my family is the most important thing I have, but you know what I mean… i hope…)
rich -> afford to do the above
Had this festival been in my hometown, it would be another story…
