After many random plays, i second the song being a grower. It's true that the production is pretty "mature". Personaly, i would like it to have a wee bit more grit and traktorbass, but it's a production style they have for a while now and it works really good anyway.

I can't compare it to Psychotzar in its impression as a single (the Crucible's concept is its own thing) , but comparing it to A.S.F.E., i have to say i like this one more. A.S.F.E. is not a bad song, but it always appeared too simplistic, sterile and unnecessarily long. Same Old Rock works much better for me. It doesn't sound forced and everything falls nicely into place. Looking forward!

Yeah, great track! Supersolid rocker. Really like how they hit the spot between too simple and too complex…and great to hear the bass play a simple rock riff and stick to it ;)

Speaking of refenrences: my first thought on the main riff "Gimme some lovin" by the Blues Brothers 😁

Looking forward to Augjst… Clear vinyl ordered

: We'll see about the distribution on the vinyl sides, but I hope for regular A/B and C/D. That way you could make a smooth transition using two turntables and a crossfader

Thanks for picking up on the topic and the nicely written posts!

There will always be a special place in my heart for a certain phase of the band (records&concerts, fonts :-) ) which are an essential part of my memories/biography, but i will gladly follow the band's future paths, which i sometimes love more and sometimes a little less.

Change is good and MP has always been about change in the specific form of creative progress. So, whatever keeps their engine running is perfectly fine and there are only few bands who manage to understand their artistic efforts as a momentary documentation on a creative journey, instead of clinging to the legacy too hard.

                  [/quote]Motorpsycho saving 2020.

Second that! Saving this year, will be quite a challenge, but of course it will help a lot.

As for the 2CD/2LP decision, i am really looking forward to the flow of the album. Having a suite/ epic tracks on an "extra" record, will probably make it easier for me to really appreciate the more challenging stuff and still have a concise more straight-forward "go to on a daily basis" album.

@Mefisto: I knew this would happen the moment I clicked on "send" :D The big bang of my psychoverse was in 2002 and I worked my way through it backwards, but i never really made it beyond the "Timothy's Monster" frontier. Technically, you're right of course.

                      Good news!

                      @Aki
:I have to agree with that. I have a much closer personal connection to the Hiorthøy approach.

With the last couple of releases, they put their toes into that deep sea of prog rock cover art, but they really went full cannonball with this one

Edit: I like things to change and develop, but the original MP font is the only MP font ;)

By the way, the Stickman-exclusive bronze vinyl is back in stock at the label's webshop. Since the tour was postponed they decided to make copies available which were originally meant for being sold at the shows. (also a really fair price and i used the chance to finally get TDDU on wax)

I honestly don't get how this band is being put in the Doom shelf? After a couple of spins, turned out this is a fucking masterpiece. Totally agree, Embers from approx. the 7 min mark is absolutely out of this world.

Oh, yes! Great live band. All shows were incredibly good, especially the first i attended when they were still a three piece. Just read that they recorded Omens at Black Box Studio…a beautiful place in the french countryside.

They also recently have a new drummer: Geord Edert from the german band Gaffa Ghandi, who happen to release their new album on the very same day via Exile On Mainstream Records (besides Stickman one of the finest german indie labels).

Bonny Lee was on the BH/BC Bonus Disc…pretty much their first take on stoner rock, or at least their own specific kind of it. They also played it live around that time.

I really enjoy Mockingbird, which I heard first at the 2014 Turin show. I really like how light it is compisition-wise yet heavy regarding the sound. Has a Timothy's Monster Disc 1-feel for me.

In general, I really appreciate that they use the situation to make such stuff available.

Second that. Drums on 'Cuda by Geb, drums on BH/BC by Bent with the excetption of Jacco van Rooij drumming on "You lose"

Thanks a lot Bernie! I love it and everyone I showed it loves it as well.

Through past interviews and the posts of Bob LeBad, Bent's take on music and the band's MO was already rather well-known. However, it is always great to hear current thoughts.

The true highlight for me is, that I rarely (if never) seen Snah so extrovert and talkative about his perception of music. So great! Incredibly cool guy.

Also Tomas statement are really revealing. His professional musicianship highlights the unique chemistry going on between Bent and Snah.

Again, thanks a lot, Bernie! Absolut top-notch work of art! :MPD:
