Ah, I wish this was in English. my Norwegian knowledge isnt enough to understand more than perhaps 20% of it, and Google Translate isnt really comprehensible. Seems very interesting from what I can gather, though.
"Why isn't Ståle Storløkken mentioned as friend?"
It seems they took the personnel part from Wikipedia and only changed a few details. Ståle isnt mentioned there either. Probably something to amend.
Great website so far! I like it a lot and appreciate the effort. As good as this website is, its always good to have an official one, too.
I did find a mistake tho, perhaps? "Ghost" is listed as being written by Ryan/Sæther, while the album itself only lists Bent as author. I stumbled across that yesterday when I created a wikipedia page for the album. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Behind_The_Sun_(Motorpsycho_album)
And after reading the superb biography, I would really like to revise the bios on both the German and English wikipedia pages, since they are horribly outdated.
After listening to the album a few times, I love it. And I think it works well together with Eggplant as a double album of sorts. Try listening to Eggplant first and then BtS right after it. Some really REALLY sweet songs on there, but I havent had time yet to learn the song names. I mostly listened to it via mp3/headphones while biking through the woods. Which is a great way to do it, even tho you have to sacrifice sound quality, of course.
Thanks btw for letting me know about the cut-in parellel thing. Now I gotta order the vinyl, too. I had ordered the CD from amazon, which gives you mp3 downloads as well, as soon as its released, which meant I could listen to it on Friday while it only arrived physically at my house yesterday.
I personally prefer dark backgrounds with bright text. Staring into a bright screen is more taxing on the eyes than staring at a mostly black screen. There are people who might see it otherwise, of course, and its best to have a choice, I suppose. Some forums have colour schemes that users can change themselves – this would be ideal, but I dont know if its possible with the software used here.
I also added an article on Still Life With Eggplant to wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Still_Life_With_Eggplant
contributions are welcome there as well, always. the MP articles on there could have some improvements. Bent still doesnt have his own article for example..
that God Seed album is pretty good btw – if you wanna see Kenneth drumming some black metal, check this out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=te9CvGLn42A&feature=youtu.be
this has been posted here before. thanks for the reminder tho, i wanted to get that album. i do like the music of gaahl and king quite a bit. im pretty sure kenneth fits in well with his versatile drumming.
Oooh nice. I always liked what King and Gaahl did musically – I have a couple of Gorgoroth records and also the "Ov Hell" album that King did alone. Surprises me to see Gaahl return to metal – and surprises me to see Kenneth join. I'm curious how that will sound, as Motorpsycho isn't well known for blastbeats and high-speed double bass drums.
Also, looks like no other members from the 2009 lineup are still in the band. Ah, Black Metal. Gotta love it and laugh at it at the same time
@supernaut: Song for a Bro!
@BronYAur: I too think you should definitely consider CotF a regular album. I mean, if you draw the Barracuda comparison, then consider Lobotomizer, 8 songs, 41 minutes. 1 song more and two minutes longer than CotF, and nobody would consider Lobo an "other" release.
I love The Unicorn more and more. Just in case anybody wanted to know
Really really nice record.
@tskogseth: another great example you brought forward. Heritage by Opeth. I love that record! And I watched the making-of-DVD they put in with the special edition, and they said they recorded it like they did just because it felt right. So what if some people expected something else and cant accept it? As an artist, that cannot be your concern.
@supernaut: indeed. Also, add horns to rock music = jazz. But of course it doesnt work like that Oh and there have been violins on Blissard, AADAP and of course many other MP records as well.. I wonder if there were any fancyprog-accusations back then.
