30.07.21 – (NO) MÃ¥nelanding 2021, Fredrikstad
…according to a post on FB
We're due for 6 😀â¤ðŸŽ§
….and i give you…..THE EGO CORNER!
Jeez…
Please, can the author of this topic rename it something else (OT-The Ego Corner, The Bitter Barn or whatever), so that these shit throwers can have their sandbox. and the rest if us can get back to focusing on MP, music and GOOD vibes?!
The end!
…or change the name of the topic to "OT: Endless bickering" or something
Well put. I second that. Perhaps a group chat or something would be better to settle your seemingly endless disputes. This is a music discussion forum. Let's keep it that way shall we?!
Not sure if this has been pointed out before, but i'll go anyway. According to the notes on the vinyl, one should consider Dreamkiller another Bent "Home Recording". All credits go to him except for harmony vocals by Snah. Pretty impressive
No picks from albums before BHBC though. Kinda odd
Interesting that you would choose HBM as your pick for the organic sound, as it's on of their worst sounding albums in my ears (particularly Big Black Dog).
Considering that the band didn't even have a website until 25 years into their career, i would assume that it could be beacause they simply don't find it important enough to care that much about
Quote:But nevertheless I think it’s a valid criticism to point out when I think the artistic choices are working against the material, which is essentially what I am driving at hereLike you pointed out, that's your opinion. I find the placing of NOX to fit perfectly with the rest of the material. With the material preceding the suite creating a growingly darker mood, then NOX in all its twisted glory, a little light and we're back to the lighter side of things. Guess it goes to show that a band can never please everyone. And so one should trust that their sequencing was what made the most sense to them, and leave it like that 😀
Ok i'll play alittle: Even though i really like the sequencing of KOO, it could have been interesting to regroup it as a half and half album. With the folky/mellow stuff on album 1 which finishes with Dreamkiller, and the hard hitters on album 2, finishing with the Lurker.
I completely disagree, and will therefore not play (no fun i'm sure, but it gives me yet another chance to underline just how much i'm loving KOO)
@ Punj Lizard: I have the same problem with the Lurker. Not because it's a bad song (loving the ideas that are put together), but rather the sound issues that i feel are most prominent on this track. Wanted to show it to a buddy of mine who has a pretty decent sound system, and i was blown away by how murky and (as you said) dynamically void it sounded. Wonder what happened there.
On the flipside: I think The Hunt is now my new fav. on the album
